Deja Kelly made her debut for the UNC women's basketball team in 2020 and played all 24 games during her first year. Kelly also helped her team, representing the United States, win the silver medal at the FIBA Women's AmeriCup in Mexico. She is currently a senior at UNC and served as the captain of the women's basketball team for the 2023-2024 season.

A journalism major at UNC, Deja Kelly often showcases snippets of her personal life and style on social media platforms like Instagram and has 407K followers on the platform. Additionally, Deja recently became Tommy Hilfiger's first NIL college ambassador and has garnered positive traction for the same.

In an interview with Essence dated 2022, Deja Kelly shared her skincare favorites and the order in which she uses the products.

More details on Deja Kelly's skincare routine

In her interview with Essence, commenting on how athletes have embraced the influencer culture and are sharing their unfiltered selves, eventually resulting in brand partnerships for young athletes, Deja shared:

“While being an athlete, I’ve learned that it’s ok to express your beauty, and to express that you’re feminine and girly. Being able to show all the girly things that you like to do off the court is important to be able to show on the court because some people may feel that if you put makeup on before a game then you’re not focused, but I think it’s the complete opposite.”

Some of the skincare products that Deja Kelly mentions in her Essence video include:

Kiehl’s Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash ($45.50):

The first step in the athlete's skin care routine includes Kiehl's foaming face wash. It is a deep cleansing formula that helps balance normal to oily skin and gently removes impurities without stripping the skin of moisture.

It is infused with renewable Calendula extract which comprises five compounds that relieve discomfort and the skin's redness. In the video, Deja is seen using one pump-sized amount and massaging it in a circular motion all over her face.

Kiehl's Calendula Herbal-Extract Alcohol-Free Toner ($52.50):

Kiehl's alcohol-free toner is the brand's cult-classic product formulated with Calendula to reduce oiliness and redness as well as improve the skin's texture. It is a gentle formula that balances normal to oily skin and gives the skin a refreshing feel.

Commenting on the toner, Deja states that she uses it to tone down her face and target any dark spots that she has.

In the video, Deja Kelly uses cotton pads to apply the toner and massages the product all over her face using her fingers.

Vaseline Healing Jelly Original ($10):

As a final step to her daycare routine before going to the classes, Deja Kelly uses Vaseline on a bare face to get her lips popping. Vaseline healing jelly is ideal for healing cracked, dry, and damaged skin as well as imparting moisture and shine to the lips.

KNC Beauty All Natural Collagen Infused Star Eye Mask ($25):

After coming back from her practice, Deja Kelly turns to KNC Beauty's eye mask for her night-time skincare regime. The eye mask is infused with retinol to keep the eyes hydrated, smooth, depuffed, and bright. The presence of retinol refines texture and stimulates blood flow while aloe soothes and reduces under-eye redness.

Deja mentions that since she does a lot of running around and sweats a lot, she ensures that she doesn't get bags under her eyes.

KNC Beauty Lip Mask ($25):

Lastly, for her lips, commenting on the KNC Beauty lip mask, the basketball player states:

"For my lips, just making sure they stay hydrated, looking nice and smooth throughout the day."

The lip mask offers plump, moisturized, smooth, and hydrated lips without the presence of chemicals. The lip mask comprises a natural moisturizing plant extract that protects the lips from external elements.

The video also showcases Deja's daily routine which consists of her attending classes and training rigorously. In other news, the basketball player recently entered her name into the transfer portal, as per ESPN.
