Australian-Italian Formula 1 driver Daniel Ricciardo, aka the “Honey Badger” of the grid, is well-liked by fans for his personality. A star on the grid, Ricciardo has eight Grand Prix victories and 32 podium finishes to his name.
More recently, becoming a breakout star in Netflix’s Drive to Survive reality series has driven his popularity and personal brand to success. Thus, it’s not surprising for fans to want a glimpse of the race car driver’s life beyond the track.
In 2023, Daniel Ricciardo talked with Complex Style about his go-to items, which include the perfumes he likes. Unsurprisingly for fans who are aware of his preferences, it features Le Labo perfumes, which the F1 driver has admitted to liking in several other interviews.
What perfumes does Daniel Ricciardo use?
In a short clip shared by Complex Style via their official Instagram handle on May 2023, Daniel Ricciardo shared his fragrance choices for Complex Style’s #PutYouOn series, where he admitted to Le Labo being his go-to perfume brand.
The RB F1 team driver added that Le Labo perfumes “kind of come in for like different occasions,” so it’s not a surprise that his fragrance choices feature three scents from the New York-based perfume house.
Le Labo Santal 33 ($322)
One of the famous scents from Le Labo’s perfume collection, the Santal 33 is an option the F1 driver tends to reach for when he needs a fragrant refresh. He shared this in an interview with Variety in 2022, saying:
“The original for me was Santal 33 like that was the first one where I was like, this stuff is pretty damn good.”
Sensual and intoxicating that ends in a comforting scent, the Le Labo Santal 33 combines the notes of cardamom, iris, and violet, along with the smoky blend of sandalwood and cedar wood. Spice is added to the mix with notes of musk and leather.

Le Labo The Noir 29 ($322)
The race car driver also shared his current favorite from the perfume house in the same Variety interview.
“But I like the Baie 19, The Noir. I’d probably say “The Noir” is like my go-to lately.”
According to the website, the Noir 29 combines “depth and freshness”, as well as “softness and strength.” It features the lightness and refreshing notes of bergamot, fig, and bay leaves, while depth is added by the aromas of cedar wood, vetiver, and musk.

Le Labo Baie 19 ($322)
In a 2020 video with GQ Sports for their 10 Things I Can’t Live Without series, Ricciardo sat down to share his essentials. On talking about the importance of having a bottle of perfume always within his reach as an F1 driver, he said:
“We have events, we’re going out, we sweat a lot in the race car, we do carry some pretty awesome odor.”
Adding to the Le Labo-inspired perfume collection by Daniel Ricciardo is the Baie 19, which he shared a bottle of in the video.
“This (Le Labo Baie 19 perfume] can be a savior. I’m quite a Le Labo fan. They do some pretty awesome mixes.”
Described on the official website as the “crisp and drenched” smell of earth after it rains, the Baie 19 is a blend of aromas of juniper berry, patchouli, and green leaves.

Tom Ford Oud Wood ($445)
While Daniel Ricciardo admittedly shares that he’s a “Le Labo fan,” he also sometimes deviates from the New York perfume house’s collection. He shares his backup perfume in the video with Complex Style, saying:
“Steering away from Le Labo, I would go with Tom Ford Oud Wood.”
Often described as dark and sensual, Tom Ford Oud Wood perfume features the opulence of oud notes, sandalwood, and vetiver, matched with the depth of rosewood and cardamom. It also has added warmth and sensuality from amber and tonka beans.

Dior Sauvage ($120)
The Aussie F1 driver is also known to wear Dior Sauvage cologne, and the proof is his 2016 Facebook post, a photo of himself smiling with a bottle of the said perfume. In the caption, Daniel Ricciardo wrote:
“I’m a savage. That’s why I wear Sauvage.”
Mysterious and sensual, the Dior Sauvage eau de toilette is a creation of Francois Demachy and features the juicy notes of exclusive bergamot from Reggio di Calabria and the woody notes of Ambroxan.
These are some of F1 driver Daniel Ricciardo’s go-to perfumes. Fragrance seekers who want to smell like the race car driver can find these bottles online at the brands’ official websites as well as Sephora.
