Candace Parker's top skincare picks: Cleansers to Lip Balm
In her interview, Candace Parker mentioned that earlier when she was just playing basketball and didn’t make as many television appearances, she didn’t wear a lot of makeup. She stated:
“So my skin-care routine was really just, I’d use something just to take off the sweat and go from there, but now that I’m on television regularly, I’m wearing heavy makeup, so I have to be a little bit more diligent about the routine.”
Parker added that her biggest skin concern is wearing makeup on TV and then working out the same day, which results in her getting bumps. The basketball star spoke about using mascara as part of her minimal makeup approach.
"And thats kind of my go-to if I’m just going to a workout or I’m not going on television. I don't wear a lot of makeup. I’ll do just a little mascara if I do anything, and that's kind of my go-to in the morning," Parker mentioned.
Candace Parker gave extensive information about her skincare favorites, particularly her morning routine.
"In the morning I wake up, and then I use the Rodial Dragon’s Blood Cleansing Water, and just cleanse my skin and get it clean from my night cream the night before. If I’m going on television, I use the Neutrogena wipes to get my face clean to prep for makeup," Parker continued.
1) Rodial Dragon Blood Cleansing Water ($49): The brand describes this product as hydrating micellar water used for the face and eyes. Infused with Vitamin B3 and hyaluronic acid, it removes makeup and locks in moisture.
2) Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Wipes ($4.97): These wipes offer gentle cleansing by dissolving dirt, makeup, and oil to get cleaner skin.
3) Neutrogena Makeup Remover ($14.99): It is an oil-free, liquid makeup remover that draws out all sorts of eye makeup, including waterproof mascara.
4) Rodial Vit C Brightening Cleansing Pads ($63): As the brand suggests, these cleansing pads can help brighten dull-looking skin, owing to the presence of fruit AHA acids and salicylic acid.
5) SheaMoisture African Black Soap Clarifying Mud Mask ($15.99): According to the brand's description, this mask contains tea tree oil, African Black soap, and shea butter. These ingredients help to eliminate dirt and impurities and absorb excess oil from the skin.
Parker further mentioned in her interview with Glamour about using a clay mask:
“When I get back to my hotel room, I do a mask. I like a clay mask like the SheaMoisture African Black Soap Clarifying Mud Mask. I really feel like that kind of gets into my pores and it gets everything out.”
6) Rodial Dragon's Blood Hyaluronic Mask (£55): This face mask comprises hydrating actives that can moisturize and nourish the skin. Commenting on the mask, Parker stated:
"I also like a lot of Rodial’s masks; they don’t have a clay one, but I like their Dragon’s Blood Mask."
7) Rodial Dragon's Blood Hyaluronic Night Cream ($35): For moisturizer, Parker uses the Rodial night cream as it doesn't dry out her skin, or make it feel oily. She prefers the same brand's eye mask, instead of an eye cream.
As per the brand's website, Rodial Dragon’s Blood Hyaluronic Night Cream is formulated with ingredients like time-release retinol, hyaluronic acid, shea butter, and squalene. With Chromabright technology, this product claims to hydrate, soothe, and condition the skin.
8) Carmex Lip Balm ($2.94): Candace Parker uses this product as it offers long-lasting protection to the lip barrier while softening and hydrating the lips.
Toward the end of her interview, Parker shared the details of her favorite skin tints which include:
9) Rodial's Soft Focus Glow Booster Drops ($90): This product has a weightless formula, enriched with antioxidants to create a dewy base for makeup.
10) Rodial's Bronze Glowlighter ($45): It helps contour the face and imparts a sun-kissed glow to the skin, combining the benefits of skincare and makeup regime.
With these products, Candace Parker aims to keep her skin ready for intense basketball competitions. From basic skincare to makeup essentials, the WNBA player is particular about the products she uses to get glowing skin.
