Tahlia McGrath (Adelaide Strikers Women captain): We love playing here at the Adelaide Oval! It has been a tough road for us, but this win is a big one. We haven't quite been up to our standards, so that was the message, to match up to standards in this game. I did by bit to try and maintain that standard. Madeline Penna gave us a total to defend by being brave, especially in the Surge. Anesu Mushangwe was simple in her approach, and she got the job done by being disciplined. We love representing this blue shirt, we have two more games to go, we will give it our all to win them.

Madeline Penna (Player of the Match, 60 runs off 40 balls): Great to have this win at home! We've not had the best of times, so this comes in handy! I guess for me, it was about keeping it simple. I hit the ball hard, pushed things forward and got the runs. For me it's always nice to take the bowling on in the Surge, it wasn't an easy wicket to bat on, but it worked well for me. Tahlia McGrath is a top performer with the ball, she doesn't bowl much, but she gets the job done when called up, even by herself. The crowd here is happy, so we are happy too!

Adelaide Strikers Women have finally managed to grab their second win of this season.

It all started with team Adelaide Strikers winning the toss and deciding to bat first. They lost their top-order batters quite early, with just Laura Wolvaardt scoring 18 runs from 18 deliveries. It was not the start that the hosts wanted, but then Madeline Penna came in and showcased her class with the bat by scoring a crucial 60 runs. Amanda Wellington's small contribution of 18 runs helped the Strikers to post a respectable total of 140 runs on the board. From the bowling end, skipper Tahila McGrath bowled a superb spell and took 4 big wickets. Megan Schutt too kept the Hurricanes batters struggling for runs in the middle overs.

Hobart Hurricanes would not have thought that they would not be able to chase this target with the kind of start they had in the powerplay. Lizelle Lee misfired today, but Elyse Villani took the responsibility on her strong shoulders and scored a magnificent 44 runs. It was all going towards the Hurricane's way until the drinks break, but after that, they suddenly started to lose wickets in the bunch and were not able to build any partnerships. Hurricanes faced a huge collapse from which they never came back into this game. Amy Smith became the star bowler for them today with 3 wickets.

All this led Adelaide Strikers Women to a convincing win, and the Hobart Hurricanes have missed a golden opportunity to become the table toppers.

15.2 Tahlia McGrath to Callie Wilson, ADELAIDE STRIKERS WOMEN GET THE JOB DONE! On the fuller side of good length with some pace taken off. Wilson tried her best to power it over the in-field on the up but could not quite time it. Mid-off came into play then and ended up taking a simple catch!
