Alright. That was an easy win in the end for the Strikers, they now will look to go to the top of the table with plenty of games in hand. Thunder though who did so well, weren't themselves at all in this game, they need to bounce back well in the games to come here. That's it from this game, but there's a big one starting in around an hour, the ICC World Cup 2023 1st Semi-Final between India and New Zealand, do tune into that and get all the latest from that cracking contest coming up. This has been myself, Pradeep signing off for now, take care and stay safe!
Laura Wolvaardt has been adjudged the Player of the Match!
Adelaide Strikers Women won the game by 6 wickets!
What a clinical victory this for the Strikers, they have been remarkable throughout, haven't put a foot wrong with the ball or the bat. They first strangled the innings for Thunder and ensured they restrict them to just 118.
Then with the bat, Katie Mack and Laura Wolvaardt ensured they don't let Thunder make early in roads. Mack was the first to depart, and McGrath the next ball, two quick wickets by Smith. However, Wolvaardt and Patterson steadied the ship and ensured no further hiccups.
Post the drinks break, the intent changed from the two batters and from there on, there was no stopping. Smith did strike back later on, but it was too late as Patterson ensured she was there to see her team off and pick up the crucial two points to level up with Scorchers on the points table and now sit at second spot.

17.4 Chamari Athapaththu to Danielle Gibson, floated a full toss on the off-stump, Gibson looks to swipe but gets the inside edge back on to the pad.

17.2 Chamari Athapaththu to Danielle Gibson, drops it short outside the off-stump, Gibson waits and looks to cut that one away but misses.
Danielle Gibson [RHB] comes out to the middle!
17.1 Chamari Athapaththu to Madeline Penna, OUT! KNOCKED HER OVER! Fires the length delivery on the off-stump, Penna looks to drive but misses, through to rattle the stumps.

That over just summed up the game for Thunder, Johnson was poor with her lines and length and Patterson made full use of it by smashing four boundaries.
