So that brings an end to our coverage for this match! Hope you enjoyed the 18 overs we could bring to you! Thanks for sticking with us. This is the pair of Rudransh and Maanas signing off!
Update: So the official update is that the game is a tie! Yep, you read it right! According to ECS' DL/S calculations, the scores are level and the points will be shared between Baneasa and United CC Bucharest. The rain and the wet outfield haven't left any time for the two overs to be completed. This is the first time such a thing has happened in ECS, and perhaps in any cricket around the world as well.
It was a neck-in-neck contest that had everything from no-ball run-outs to adamant umpires asking players to play in the rain and was still heading for a tight finish. Would you say this is a fair result then? Both teams would feel they had a chance to take the win but will just have to accept the fate.
Rain delay: Right! It's pouring down heavily and a lot happened in the last two overs as all of us tried to understand how the game was still on. Bilal Ahmed and Ramesh Satheesan started the innings really well.
Ahmed had two sides to him: he was timing it brilliantly while standing still but mistiming everything when using his feet to generate power. He still showed a few brilliant shots on his way to a 17-ball 38. Ramesh played a more mature knock, driving him on and putting the loose balls away to score a quick 50.
The clouds had been looming around for a long time and the duo misjudged a run as soon as it started raining and Ahmed had to go off a no-ball. The rain got very heavy but the umpires surprisingly allowed the match to go on. Leg-spinner Nawaz used that to his advantage, getting Rajesh Kumar stumped while wearing sunglasses in the rain!
He completed his over and the umpires finally decided to bring the covers on. United CC need 31 runs off 12 balls which is quite gettable with Satheesan on the crease but we don't know if we'll have a game here. It looks very unlikely. We'll keep you updated!
The batters are requesting the umpires to allow them to go and they have finally put out the bails! The covers are coming on now.

7.6 Hamid Nawaz to Ramesh Satheesan, full and on the leg stump line, Ramesh drills that down to long on for a single. Keeps them in the hunt!
7.5 Hamid Nawaz to Ramesh Satheesan, FOUR MORE! Almost took the non-striker's head with it! Length ball on the off stump line, Ramesh absolutely thumps that straight back down the track. Past the non-striker and away to the fence!
7.4 Hamid Nawaz to Ramesh Satheesan, FOUR! Length ball outside off, Ramesh looks to cut it away but gets an outside edge past the keeper and away to the boundary rope!
7.4 Hamid Nawaz to Arunkumar Unnikrishnan, WIDE! Sprayed down the leg side and the keeper cannot collect it cleanly as well. The batters take a single too.
7.3 Hamid Nawaz to Rajesh Kumar, OUT! STUMPED! Full and drifting on the body, Rajesh takes a couple of steps down the track and looks to work it away. Is beaten and the keeper whips off the bails in a flash!
Rajesh Kumar st Abdul Shakoor b Hamid Nawaz 5 (4b, 1x4, 0x6)
7.2 Hamid Nawaz to Rajesh Kumar, FOUR! Full and on the middle stump line, Rajesh charges down the track and has a swing at that. Gets the inside-edge and the ball runs away to the boundary rope!
7.1 Hamid Nawaz to Rajesh Kumar, length ball on the middle stump spinning away, Rajesh pushes it out into the point region. No run!
It's all very confusing. The rain is still very heavy. The umpire had a hurdle with the batting team and the bowlers but decided they are good to go.

6.6 Mahesh Prasanna to Rajesh Kumar, CAUGHT! Tossed up and on the leg stump line, Rajesh chips it into the hands of the long on fielder, who takes the catch. However, it was a free hit. The batters take a single.
Wait, what? It's absolutely raining cats and dogs here but we will continue to play!
So the free hit will have to wait. It's pouring down heavily!
6.6 Mahesh Prasanna to Ramesh Satheesan, RUN OUT! NO BALL! A full toss on the body, pulled towards deep square leg for a single. It has been given as a no ball. Free hit coming up! The bowler fumbles the collect and Bilal wanted the second. Ramesh sends him back but Bilal was halfway down the track. The keeper whips off the bails and that will be the end of Bilal Ahmed. The new batter will face the free hit!
Bilal Ahmed run out (Abdul Shakoor/Mahesh Prasanna) 39 (17, 1x4, 5x6)
6.5 Mahesh Prasanna to Bilal Ahmed, length ball outside off spinning away, Bilal looks to cut it away. Gets a thick outside edge past the keeper for a single.
