Shakib Al Hasan [Bangladesh captain]: (On the last over thriller) Yes things got a bit interesting towards the end but I think we had the confidence of getting the job done. Today was Shoriful Islam's day to get the job done but would have liked Mehidy Hasan Miraz to finish the work. Anyway, a win is a win and that is what we play for and what our home crowd want, so, happy with the performance on the whole!

Towhid Hridoy is the Player of the Match! Here's what he has to say: We wanted to take some momentum when me and Shamim were batting, we wanted to rotate the strike and take the game deep. With this kind of match, it gives us the confidence and hopefully can continue. I was little bit nervous in the final over, I was confident to finish the game.

Rashid Khan [Afghanistan captain]: I think the ground was very wet after the rain and with the wet ball, our strength was taken away with the rain and it was tough to grip but we bowled well, it did put us on the backfoot but overall a great team effort. [On defending 155] I feel like, the bowling unit we have, that total was enough but in a T20 format, one moment here and there, the momentum shifts, we were capable of defending it. We needed to be a bit careful with the bat, the score would've been 20 or 25 more. Great to see the way Nabi played, he's a senior pro, he set the example and took the game deep and so happy for him.

What an innings this was! It began with Afghanistan picking up three early wickets. Then came a slight rain break, after which Shakib Al Hasan fell and Afghanistan were totally on top!

Fazalhaq Farooqi, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Azmatullah Omarzai and Fareed Malik were all among the wickets by then and Bangladesh were tottering at 64/4.

Towhid Hridoy was joined at the crease by Shamim Hossain and the two young men were thrust with the responsibility of taking their team out of trouble first and then, home. And boy, didn't they take that responsibility with both hands!

Be it good balls or bad balls, seam or spin, short length or full or good length, they had answers to every type of bowling! The 50-partnership came up between them and they were just running away with the show!

Rashid Khan got rid of Shamim towards the end but when only 2 runs were required off 5 balls, Karim Janat produced a hat-trick out of nowhere, leaving Hridoy stranded at the other end!

With 8 wickets down, Shoriful Islam came out to bat and much to the relief of all the home fans, smacked one square of the wicket through the off-side for four to bring up the winning runs!

Afghanistan were poor in the field today. They dropped some crucial catches at just the wrong time. This is something they have to rectify going forward.

19.5 Karim Janat to Shoriful Islam, FOUR! IT'S ALL OVER! What a shot that from Shoriful, he seals the game and the crowd erupts in joy. Janat gave a bit of a care with the hat-trick but Shoriful came to the rescue but what a game this turn out to be in the end! Short and wide of off-stump, Shoriful absolutely thrashes it to deep covers, races away for a boundary. Bangladesh go 1-0 up in the series!

19.4 Karim Janat to Nasum Ahmed, OUT! IT'S A HAT-TRICK FOR JANAT! What is happening here? Bangladesh are crumbling out of nowhere and Afghanistan are right back in it now. Short into the batter, Nasum swivels to pull but has top edged it straight up. Fareed at third-man runs forward and pouches a brilliant catch. What a moment this for Janat!
