With that, our coverage for the first ODI between Bangladesh and England comes to an end. After a low-scoring thriller in the first game, the series promises to deliver more nail-biting encounters. These two sides will be back again for the second ODI on Friday at Mirpur again. Until next time, this is Raghav Tikmany singing off alongside Mohul Bhowmick. Thank you for tuning in!
Jos Buttler (Enlgand Captain): We are delighted with the win. We spent a great deal of time analysing the conditions, it was the toughest conditions for us as a group. Dawid played a spectacular knock and we all can learn from it as a lesson. The pitch had a lot for the seamers and the spinners. We can improve in the bowling department as well like we gave plenty of extras. Many areas to work on but it's great to start off on a winning note. The small partnerships on these decks can make a lot of difference.
Dawid Malan (Player of the Match): Yeah, I have spent a fair bit of time in Bangladesh grounds, especially in Mirpur, it helps to adapt. I told Jos if they had scored 30 or 40 odd runs more it would have been very difficult for us. I think it's expected to lose wickets in quick succession on such decks but we kept stitching small partnerships that helped us get over the line. Yeah, Adil has 10 FC hundreds and a great technique, he's no mug with the bat.
Tamim Iqbal (Bangladesh captain): We did not put up enough runs on the board. It was a challenging wicket to bat on, and we lost too many wickets at regular intervals and that is where we lost the game. The bowlers did well, our fielding was on point too. We fought very hard, but we have to give credit to Malan for the way he played. We tried everything. We kept catching options. I am very proud of the way the bowlers bowled. One man was exceptional today (David Malan) and he tuend the game around.

What a win, what a win for England! They have pulled off a tricky run chase against one of the most difficult home sides in this format on the back of a Dawid Malan masterclass.
Usually chasing 210 seems like a walk in the park for this English side but Mirpur is the last place where you would want to chase. Bangladesh started well. Roy was dismissed in the very first over. Taskin and Shakib did not allow the batters to score freely in the powerplay and it was pretty evident that this run chase was not going to be an easy one.
Wickets kept falling from the other end but Malan did not give away his wicket. After the first hour, Bangladesh were pretty much on top as England had lost four wickets including that of the skipper Jos Buttler. However, Malan stitched a few mini-partnerships with the lower order to take his side home.
Every time a batting pair was looking settled, Bangladesh managed to break the partnership. However, the final wicket partnership of 51 was never broken. Rashid played smartly as the second fiddle and Malan kept dealing in singles unless there was a freebie on offer. The duo made use of the open field and ran plenty of ones and twos to get their side over the line with a circumspect approach.
Dawid Malan scores the winning runs and sends England home!

48.4 Najmul Hossain Shanto to Dawid Malan, FOUR! ENGLAND BEAT BANGLADESH! Back of a length on off and middle, rushes through. Malan rocks back in the crease and pulls it away past midwicket for a boundary! It is only apt that the winning runs came off Malan's bat.
48.3 Najmul Hossain Shanto to Adil Rashid, floated outside off, turns back in. Rashid steps down the track and wrists it away towards deep midwicket for a run.
48.2 Najmul Hossain Shanto to Adil Rashid, back of a length outside off, turns back in. Rashid pulls and misses but he has evidently been struck outside the line.
48.1 Najmul Hossain Shanto to Dawid Malan, tossed up outside off, turns away. Malan pushes it to deep cover for a single.
Najmul Hossain Shanto (1.0-0-3-0) is back into the attack
The third powerplay scores have been the difference maker in this tie. Bangladesh scored 34 runs and lost three wickets while England in the same phase have scored 40 without losing a wicket that too with 12 balls remaining.

47.6 Mustafizur Rahman to Adil Rashid, full on off and middle. Rashid wrists it towards mid on for a dot to end this over.
47.5 Mustafizur Rahman to Adil Rashid, fullish outside off, moves back in. Rashid drives it to cover.
Terrible review there. It was pitching way outside the line. But Bangladesh were just trying there luck as they do not have any use of the leftover reviews.
47.4 Mustafizur Rahman to Adil Rashid, BIG APPEAL! Full and straight on middle and leg. Rashid flicks at it and misses. He gets rapped on the pads. The hosts appeal for lbw but are turned down. Tamim takes the review. Ultra Edge suggests that there was no bat involved, but the ball tracker shows that the ball was pitched way outside the legstump! Rashid is SAFE!
47.3 Mustafizur Rahman to Dawid Malan, at a length outside off, moves away. Malan cuts it uppishly over point for a run.
47.2 Mustafizur Rahman to Dawid Malan, full outside off, moves back in. Malan leans forward to pat it back to the bowler.
