Beating Bangladesh in any format on their home turf is a tough ask and once again it was proven right. The World Champions played their first T20 since that magical night in Melbourne and started well with the bat but the determined Bangladesh pace attack bowled superbly in the end to restrict them to a par total. England could've still made it tough for the hosts but their bowlers didn't live up to the expectation and Shanto played a match-defining knock eventually.
Bangladesh have won an ODI and a T20 at Chattogram but the action returns to Dhaka for the final two T20 matches. They never had any success in the capital against England but things could change on Sunday if they perform collectively like they did today. On that note, it's time to end the coverage here, hope you enjoyed it. Until next time, this is Pragadeesh and Pradeep signing off
Shakib Al Hasan (Bangladesh Captain): The way we approach the game was fantastic. When we were bowling the first 10 overs we were put under a pump, but no one panicked and everyone know what they have to do. Except for my dropped catch, things went well in the first innings. In T20's you don't have to think much, we have to carry a good environment in the dressing room and on the field. We are looking to start from here having an eye on the T20 World Cup in West Indies. If we play well, we can build a good team going into the tournament
Najmul Hossain Shanto is the Player of the Match! Here's what he has to say: Towhid batted really well but I just watched the ball and played on it's merit. The way all the bowlers bowled was brilliant, specially Hasan and Taskin, it helped us to take the pressure and bat normally. Rony and Litton got off to good start, we build on that and it's all about the start always.
Jos Buttler (England captain): We just didn't finish the innings really well, we were set to launch and finish well but we were short of 15-20 runs but just lost the way in the end. The pitch played as expected, low bounce and difficult hit through the line, Bangladesh came out and played with intent and took the game away initially. It's a different balance, sometimes it works, we've got good all-rounders and we make the best use of it.
Bangladesh won by 6 wickets Najmul Hossain Shanto 51(30) | Jos Butter 67(42) Hasan Mahmud 2-26(4) | Mark Wood 1-24(2)
Shakib Al Hasan seals the match in style and helps his team go 1-0 up in the series. He runs and hugs his partner, while England didn't show good intent with the ball and deserved to be on the wrong side of the result Defending 157 on this track was challenging and a fast and furious start that Bangladesh had put England further on the back foot. They got their first breakthrough with the help of Rashid's ripper and Das' wicket soon after helped them to gain a bit of control in the match but everything lasted only until Shanto took matters into his own hands to punish England's pace attack. He was just using his timing and delicate touches to good effect and picked his spots to perfection
That one over from Mark Wood where Shanto smashed four consecutive boundaries put the hosts in the driver's seat and there was no looking back after that. Wood, however, managed to come back and had his say against Shanto and the pressure was building around the hosts after his wicket. Moeen Ali looked in good rhythm but Shakib smashed him for a couple of boundaries before keeping his cool to steer his team home comfortably in the end

17.6 Chris Jordan to Shakib Al Hasan, FOUR! GAME, SET AND MATCH! Bangladesh thump the World Champions by a fair margin. Back of a length, outside the off-stump. Shakib throws his hands, slashes it down to third-man, fielder runs around with a dive but can't stop it and that boundary seals the deal as Bangladesh go 1-0 up in the series!
17.5 Chris Jordan to Afif Hossain, back of a length, angled in on the middle and off. Afif whips it into the on-side for another single.
17.4 Chris Jordan to Shakib Al Hasan, back of a length and outside the off-stump. Shakib slaps that one over the covers but there's protection and gets only a single. Bangladesh need just 4 now!
17.3 Chris Jordan to Shakib Al Hasan, yorker length on the fifth stump. Shakib reaches to squeeze that one away but misses, through to the keeper.
17.2 Chris Jordan to Shakib Al Hasan, FOUR! SHOT! Shakib is in no mood to leave this till the length. Change of pace on the fourth stump, was in the slot and Shakib smashes it over the top of mid-off, goes one bounce into the fence for a boundary.
17.1 Chris Jordan to Afif Hossain, back of a length in on the off-stump. Afif clipped it into the on-side for a single. This is sensible from Bangladesh.
The England pacers had a forgettable day so far. Bangladesh are two hits away from going 1-0 up in the series.

16.6 Jofra Archer to Afif Hossain, back of a length, angled into Afif on the off-stump. Leans back and dabs it down to third-man for a single.
16.5 Jofra Archer to Afif Hossain, FOUR! TOP SHOT! There's no need to run for those. Length delivery, outside the off-stump. Afif strides out and absolutely creams it through the covers, runs away and finds the ropes in a flash.
16.4 Jofra Archer to Shakib Al Hasan, short delivery but didn't get up much. Shakib crouches a bit as he pulled it to deep square-leg for a single.
16.3 Jofra Archer to Afif Hossain, short and slightly down the leg-side. Afif just helps it to short fine-leg for another single.
This is Rashid's catch and he clearly misjudges it. He keeps looking at Sam Curran, who showed interest at first place but stops himself knowing that Rashid was closer to taking this. The ball ends up falling between two fielders
16.2 Jofra Archer to Shakib Al Hasan, OH! Short delivery into Shakib, swivels on his feet to pull but he has skied it to deep backward square-leg. Surprised that neither Curran or Rashid went for the catch, it falls in between them as they come back for a brace.
