Well, that is it from our side, we hope you join us for the third encounter between Pakistan and Bangladesh on the 22nd of November. We believe you enjoyed this match as much as we had bringing it to you, so until next time this is me Anavit Naik along with my good friend and fellow textpert Pradeep Somashekar taking your leave. You do take very good care of yourselves!
Babar Azam, Pakistan Captain: (on their bowling) We utilized the last 10 overs quite well. We stuck to our plans and when the wickets fall in bunches then the pressure is right on the opposition and that happened exactly, we took wickets and pressurized them. (On getting overconfident on chasing a small target) To be honest not really, whatever the target we prepare ourselves accordingly and the endeavor is that we stitch a partnership because when you have a smaller target you tend to relax a bit but the way our team responded was pleasing in fact we had small totals in both matches and the response was very satisfying from us. (On his own performance) It is part of the game but I will definitely look to improve and better it in the next match.
Mahmudullah, Bangladesh Captain: Yeah definitely, we started off quite well today. Me and Najmul tried to get a good partnership but we didn't carry on too well. (On carrying the batting by one of the batters) Yeah, definitely, for a team like us we could have gone for that but it doesn't come out well often. (On missed opportunities in the field) Boys are putting out a lot of practice In the nets and we were losing the plot due to that in matches as we should hold on to the catches and opportunities that come our way. (On their bowling) Probably for the last 5-6 months, bowlers are putting up that performance and we have been outstanding in that area
Fakhar Zaman has been adjudged the Man of the Match for his scintillating innings of 57(51)*!
Fakhar says, the way wicket was playing, it wasn't easy early on to play my shots and with the time we were trying to build partnership and succeed in that, take it till the end and finish it. To be honest it was batter than yesterday, not the ideal wicket to bat on but it was better than yesterday. Whenever we tour other countries, we try our best to win all the games and we want to win the third game and finish 3-0!
We have the Presentation now:
Pakistan beat Bangladesh by 8 wickets with 11 balls to spare to go 2-0 up
The start was really watchful as Taskin bowled his heart out and was at peak intensity in his first over. Mustafizur started with a bang as Babar Azam dragged one onto his stumps. Taskin in his second over was smelling blood with some seam bowling which was coupled with lateral movement off the surface and was making the ball talk as Rizwan saw through the over. Fakhar Zaman who joined Rizwan at no. 3 after Azam departed, showed signs of maturity as he hit odd boundaries which were on offer and coupled up with singles every over to keep the scorecard ticking. But the partnership was a match-winning one after they ensured a safe spot soon for them to unfurl their shots.
As for Bangladesh, this was one of those days when nothing goes your way. You tend to bowl more wides than usual, there is one chance in like forever which the fielder spills it and that races away to the boundary, you throw the ball in search of a run-out and end up conceding the extra run. The economy of the bowlers looks really good but it was such a low-scoring game that an economy of 2-3 runs would have helped Bangladesh’s cause. A couple of easy catches popped out of the hands and it was anyway too late until those chances came their way. The extras were not much but the lack of runs made them start with low confidence. Taskin Ahmed was the silver lining for Bangladesh.
Bangladesh have much to look into the game and needs to cover bases to make amends. Mustafizur Rahman walked off after bowling a ball in his third over which adds to the agony for Bangladesh.
Pakistan are carrying their excellent form into every T20I game they play. Shaheen Shah Afridi the prodigy started the collapse of the Bangladeshi batsmen in the first over of the innings. Shadab Khan was canny and handy in his 4 overs as he chipped in with a couple of wickets to his name. Rauf, Wasim, and Nawaz making the ball talk as Pakistan with their unit are making countries around the world run for their money. Babar Azam is leading them from the front with this match being an aberration as his rest of the allies got the job done. How well has Mohammed Rizwan fared in his career so far and is making a name for himself as being the best keeper batsman in the world right now along with Jos Buttler and Rishab Pant.
So here we are at the end of the second T20I between Pakistan and Bangladesh as Pakistan have sealed the series with an emphatic win. They go 2-0 up in the 3-match T20I with one match to play on the 22nd of November at this venue itself. Zaman and Rizwan were the difference as Bangladesh lost plot every over
