Chamari Athapaththu, Sri Lanka captain: I'm really happy with the team's performance. Harshitha batted really well, Nilakshi as well, so I'm really pleased. I try to play my natural game. Vishmi and I got out early, but we have a lot of good batters in our team, we aren't dependent on one or two of them. We've been working on this aspect for the last couple of months, there's a bit of confidence and positivity in this batting line-up, so this time, we aren't dependent on one or two batters, we have 5-6 good batters in the team. The new coach introduced new strategies for the girls and they used it in the games. Lot of positives for the team as they played their natural game. We have to stick to our plans for the next couple of games. Australia is one of the best teams in the world, but we'll think about our plans. We have to improve on our bowling a little bit, we haven't bowled well in the powerplay today. We also need to stick to our positive batting and play our natural game.

Nigar Sultana Joty (Bangladesh captain): I think we had great batting during the powerplay. After the 6th over, we didn’t find the boundaries. Shobhana and Shamima batted very well. I guess we need to work on our boundary-hitting options. We need to accelerate towards the end, we lost too many wickets and we need to work on that. I think, Marufa bowled really well. She showed how capable she is. But somehow we couldn’t stop them from hitting boundaries. It was a very good surface, we did very well with the bat. We were short by 15-20 runs. The match would have been different had we gotten the score to 140. We are looking forward to the Australia game now.

Harshitha Samarawickrama (as translated by their coach Rumesh Ratnayake): Chamari was dismissed at the wrong time and it was left to her to find a good performance. She felt it was a bouncy track. She used her feet to the spinners. Because it was a free hit and was in her range and she took the chance and it paid off.

Calm, composed and confident are the adjectives that can best describe the approach from Harshitha Madavi Samawickrama today. Sri Lanka were in quite a bit of bother after their boat was rocked mid-sea by Marufa Akter, but since the time Madavi was joined by Nilakshi de Silva in the middle, Sri Lanka never looked out of it. The duo went on to register Sri Lanka's first-ever 100-run partnership in Women's T20 cricket. Sri Lanka registered consecutive wins in the Women's T20 World Cup for the first time in the process.

The wicket seemed to play all kinds of tricks when Sri Lanka commenced their run-chase. The ball was stopping on occasions, skidding through on the others, and Marufa Akter took the best advantage of the same. After Sri Lanka got off to a steady start in the first three overs of the powerplay, the U19 Women's T20 World Cup star was introduced into the attack and she got the big fish, Chamari Athapaththu, straight away. She then went on to account for the wickets of Gunaratne and Sanjeewani off successive deliveries in her second over, and suddenly, the game looked a lot different.

Sri Lanka were in need of a partnership, and they got a solid one eventually. Despite the required rate rising, Harshitha Madavi Samawickrama and Nilakshi de Silva knocked it around for ones and twos for the best part of the middle overs. They were finding the odd-boundary every now and then, but it wasn't until the 16th over that they decided to cut loose. A no ball from Ritu Moni allowed Madavi to loosen the screws and clear the ropes, and from then on, it was a cake walk as the required rate dropped to 6. Sri Lanka needed just another couple of overs to get past the line and register two wins in two in the World Cup this year.

Harshitha runs to the other end with her arms raised in triumph! She and Nilakshi de Silva have dug Sri Lanka out of a scare! Two in two for the Lankans in this T20 World Cup as they take this game by 7 wickets!
