It always looked a steep target to begin with but the Barana Aute Warriors had the personnel to get the job done. They needed a blistering start to harbor hopes of chasing those down and it was exactly what was provided by the openers Mervin Matthew and Jervin Benjamin. A 11-run opening over was followed by another productive over and the carnage didn’t stop there.

Matthew raced off to 29 in just 13 deliveries and shared a 44-run partnership with Benjamin inside the 3rd over. Tahj Tavernier brought about the downfall of Matthew after a brisk knock. Benjamin continued the good work as he was joined by Junior Henry in the middle. The target looked steep but Benjamin kept up the good work, smashing boundaries consistently.

Despite the flurry of boundaries, it was down to 22 required of the final over when the relatively inexperienced Edmund Morancie was handed the ball. Benjamin went on to reach his half-century and plummeted Morancie for a six and a four over to bring the equation down to 10 off 4.

A couple of brilliant deliveries followed and Benjamin eventually found the long-on fielder on the penultimate delivery of the match. Eventually, the Titou Gorge Splashers won the nail-biter by 8 runs.

Earlier, the Titou Gorge Splashers scored a more than competitive 118 in 8 overs after the match was shortened due to rain. Riding on some exceptional power-hitting by Jerlani Robinson, Malakai Xavier and Junior Jervier, the Splashers scored 118 which looked more than enough at the halfway stage. Robinson scored 52 off 20 deliveries while Xavier chipped in with 29 off 18 deliveries.
