Wow! This was quite a contest to behold! It twisted and turned in every possible way and we weren't done after the second innings as well. There was plenty of drama and it had a fitting end in the form of a Golden Ball finish. Just the kind of high-scoring thriller we were after after Barbarian CC posted 109 on the board thanks to Agagyul Ahmadhel's superb half-century.

The opening over was as dramatic as they came and it was a sign of things to follow as a couple of wickets fell, even as a flurry of wides saw 15 runs come off it. MU Sofia were up and running though with Zeerak Chughtai and Mubarak Ali powering their way along in the powerplay to put the bowlers under pressure and stay well ahead of the required rate. Things were getting out of hand for Barbarian and they desperately needed some wickets to pull things back.

The fifth over of the chase was the turning point in many ways as Omer Malik not only sent down a nagging over, but he also prized out Mubarak to apply the brakes. Jakob Gul couldn't get going and with the run-rate dropping, Aswad Khan was asked to retire out by his team with the game slipping out of hand.

Chughtai had to get the job done himself and he sure did by tearing into Mohammad Fayyaz in the penultimate over. A couple of no balls also came to Sofia's aid as the equation came down to 10 runs required off the last over. Danyal Ali chipped in with a timely boundary but just when you thought Sofia would get through, there was a new twist - Chughtai heaved a beamer around the corner but right into the power cable as the ball was deemed dead. It would have traveled to the fence on another day but it just about kept Barbarian in the hunt as Ahmadhel did the star turn with the ball as well to ensure the game was tied. Sadly though, the Golden Ball he sent down was a full toss that was duly put away to the fence by Chughtai as MU Sofia prevailed by the barest of margins! Oh, all this in the midst of some rain as well and it was quite a manic encounter alright!

This result now means that MU Sofia remain unbeaten with seven wins out of seven and are sitting pretty on top of the table. Barbarian CC have endured their second defeat and are placed second behind their opponents, although they will take heart from how well they fought and take confidence from it moving forward in the tournament.

MU Sofia prevail! Look at Chughtai let out a huge roar! He must have been frustrated with the ball hitting the power cable but he has managed to pull his side through. What a game!
