Commentary

Right then. We've reached the closing stages of the tournament with only a couple more games to go. The Spirit Women will take on the Barmy Army in the 3rd place contest tomorrow, before the Falcons and Warriors take center stage for the grand finale. Suzie Bates (Falcons captain): It was a brilliant game of cricket. We knew Barmy Army would be a tough opponent and we had to be at our best Chamari loves playing for the Falcons. Also, to see Mariko Hill, the local, finish the game was great. (Dottin's catch) I don't know, maybe I made it look harder than it needed to be. When the ball left Chamari's hands, I was a bit concerned. It was a lot slower than what you'd expect her to bowl against someone like Dottin, but likely she didn't get a hold of it. To be in another final with this group is great. It'll be another brilliant game against a Warriors side.

Lauren Winfield-Hill (Barmy Army captain): We didn't expect anything. You gave to turn up and play well at thiss tage. We didn't play at our best today but there were still plenty of positives. Fatima was brilliant to get us to a total and give us a chance. We were a bit sloppy in the field. It was one of those things. We've got a lot to be proud of. We had contributions throughout the board. Today was disappointing but overall, we had enough of positives to take. (Playing Falcons) We saw that last time we played the Falcons. We contained them after the powerplay. Even today, until the 16th-17th over, I believed if we get a couple of wickets we could come out on top. (Experience in the tournament) So much fun. It's been an awesome experience. It's a fantastic group to be a part of. Some associate players are so so skilled and we gelled so nicely. So much to take away from the competition.

Game. Set. Match. Marizanne Kapp doing what she does best, finishing off games for her side. She does it with a bit of swagger this time out, helping her side coast home to a comfortable victory in the end alongside Mariko Hill to calm the nerves in the dressing room. It was these two who set the tone early with three wickets each in the first innings and it's they who fittingly finish things off.

Chasing a tricky total, Chamari Athapathu laid down the marker at the top of the order and blazed her way to a half-century. Till she was out there, it seemed like a one-sided contest with the result a mere formality, despite losing Wyatt early on. Bates and Satish played their part in the middle before Cardoso and Chettry delivered with a couple of quick wickets to wrestle back some momentum.

The Barmy Army spinners did quite well in the middle overs to try and strangle the opposition and take the game deep. However, it was the two MK's for the Falcons, Marizanne Kapp and Mariko Hill finishing the job for their side. The Hong Kong international held her nerve for three crucial boundaries in the 18th over, while the South African showed all her experience to make sure her side gets over the line.

So, it's the Falcons who move into the finals tomorrow, setting up a finals clash with the Warriors. Stick around, we'll get some reactions from the captains at the post-match presentation.
