That brings us to the end of our coverage for this encounter. Till the next time, this is myself (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty) signing off.
Harbhajan Singh (Manipal Tigers captan): I am alright. We were pretty happy with what we got on the board. I think we got 20 extra. It was keeping low and few balls were not bouncing as much. Very happy with my performance. Well that was the plan, he looks one of those batters who took the game away in the previous game. I wanted to bowl to Irfan, he is probably the best batter in that line up presently and I wanted to take up the challenge. This ground doesn't get too wet, when I lost the toss I felt it was the best thing. We wanted to bat first, toss wasn't a big matter for us. Differet conditions from Ranchi, it was very wet in Ranchi but luckily we won there.
Irfan Pathan (Bhilwara Kings captain): When you look, the ball was keeping even more low in the second innings. It wasn't a bad idea to chase but if you score 200 then it gets very difficult. Chad and Uthappa took the game away from us. In terms of pace as well, we didn't bowl into the pitch. We didn't execute it in the right areas and 200 was well above par. When I look back, I felt that Karia might not have been a good option against the right hander but I feel now I should have given him a one or two overs. Everyone has to look at their strength. Our strength is batting and not bowling. I will back my strength and my team's strength, I am very clear on that.
Chadwick Walton (Player of the Match): It was good to see Robin set the platform for us and then I had to take the onus on myself. I just got lucky tonight. I kept it simple as the coach said and I wanted to bat as long as possible. I will take the hundred. Playing second fiddle to Robin at the start and then cashing in at the right moment.
That was a dominating performance from the Manipal Tigers as they brushed past the Bhilwara Kings in the 6th game of LLC, beating them comprehensively by 89 runs. They batted superbly to put up a massive 211 and in reply, the Bhilwara Kings never got going. They couldn't get any momentum whatsoever and the pressure kept building. They were never in the match and this will also affect their net run rate. Tillakaratne Dilshan and Solomon Mire struggled to get going and it was the introduction of Praveen Gupta which brought about Mire's dismissals.
There was no flow to the innings. Dilshan did find the boundary thrice but got a corker from Parvinder Awana which was safely pouched by Robin Uthappa. Yusuf Pathan and Irfan Pathan couldn't quite make the impact they are known to make. An uncharacteristic knock of 16 in 20 deliveries didn't help the Bhilwara Kings while Irfan was dismissed cheaply for just 5 runs.
None of the batters could get going ans eventually it was Anureet Singh and Iqbal Abdulla ensured that they batted out the full quota of 20 overs. Imran Khan was the leading wicket-taker with three to his name while Parvinder Awana also chipped in with a couple of wickets. The Manipal Tigers go to the top of the table while the Bhilwara Kings are languishing at the bottom with just a win from their three games.
