MATCH SUMMARY
Cricket Stars won by 8 wickets with 4 balls to spare
A finish that you will only see in European Cricket, the incoming throw from the boundary deflecting off the soggy edge of the pitch to give the batters an extra run and a victory. ECN Cricket at its dramatic best!
Cricket Stars needed 135 to win and you have got to say that at no point did they look out of control in this run chase. Right from the first over when they got 17 runs, it was almost like cruise control for them as they kept their heads and calculated the run chase perfectly.
They were given a headstart by the openers, Attiq Ur Rehman and Mukhmoor Amjad just before getting to 50 inside the first 3 overs was when the first wicket fell. But then, Mukhmoor and Nasir Ramzan took center stage from there on and took Cricket Stars almost past the finishing line before Ramzan got out with them needing 7 off the final over. It was only a matter of time then.
Brescia CC will be disappointed having left at least 20-30 runs out in the middle when they were batting as their innings was derailed be some quality spin bowling by the likes of Afzal and Lovepreet and brilliant execution in the death by Deepak Rana.
9.2 Hassan Naveed to Mukhmoor Amjad, AND THAT WILL BE THAT! CRICKET STARS UPSET BRESCIA CRICKET CLUB! Full and slow on off-stump. Smacked away from the back foot with the strong bottom hand to the wide long-on area. The batters run back for a comfortable two but the throw unfortunately gets ricocheted off the edge of the pitch and gifts the batters the opportunity to pick up another run, which they take and end up victorious!
That is the slice of luck the Cricket Stars needed, 3 off 5 needed
9.1 Hassan Naveed to Mukhmoor Amjad, FRENCH CUT FOR FOUR! Full around off-stump. A big heave across the line gets inside edge past the stumps and the left of the keeper for a boundary!
Hassan Naveed [1.0-0-14-0] will bowl the last over
Sheraz Afzal, RHB, is the new batter
7 runs needed off the last over
Six and out to end the penultimate over and we still have life in this contest, is there another twist in the tale???

8.6 Imran Naveed to Nasir Ramzan, BOWLED! Full on off-stump. Nasir moves across and tries to ramp it over the keeper's left. But all he does is play it back on to his off-bail!
Nasir Ramzan b Imran Naveed 45 (21b, 3x4, 4x6).
8.5 Imran Naveed to Nasir Ramzan, SIX! Back of a length around off-stump. Nasir smacks it hard and well over the right of long-off off the back foot for a maximum!
13 off 8 now, nervy moments for both the teams
8.4 Imran Naveed to Nasir Ramzan, accurate short delivery over off-stump. A big swing of the blade across the line on the back foot and another miss! Dot ball.
8.3 Imran Naveed to Mukhmoor Amjad, Oh no! Back of a length around off-stump. A big swing across the line and a miss. But the miss by the keeper gives away a bye!
8.2 Imran Naveed to Mukhmoor Amjad, short around off-stump and well-directed. A swing and a miss on the back foot across the line. No run.
8.1 Imran Naveed to Mukhmoor Amjad, FOUR! Short on leg-stump, following the batter. But Amjad was waiting for anything short. He just short-arm pulled it away to deep backward square for a boundary!
Afridi nailed his yorkers pretty much throughout the over but still was not able to break this partnership. This has been a really smart partnership, can they take them past the line. 18 needed off 12 deliveries
