Jason Behrendorff (Player of the Match): It is about hitting the right lengths, depending on the opposition batters and conditions. I try to hit the hard length more often than not and also bring about my variations if need be. This is a close-knit group, we know one another really well, both on and off the field and a lot of credit for this goes to Ashton Turner for this.
Perth Scorchers - 157/2, beat Brisbane Heat - 155/6, by 8 wickets with 3 overs and 4 balls to spare.
Josh Inglis 67* (35) | Jason Behrendorff - 3/21 Max Bryant 36 (27) | Matthew Kuhnemann - 1/32
What a chase this from the Scorchers. They go top of the table with a dominant win.
They never gave the Heat any chance to defend 155.
Both Aaron Hardie and Josh Inglis in fine form and they put on an unbroken 132-run stand in 74 balls to headline an easy win.
Hardie reached successive fifties and Inglis showed why he is so highly rated with a clinical dismantling of the attack.
They took the Surge when they were going well and that helped the Scorchers to finish it off quickly.
Stay tuned to know who the Player of the Match is.
16.2 Spencer Johnson to Aaron Hardie, THAT IS THE MATCH TO THE SCORCHERS! Short on off and SMASHED off the back foot with a slight clearance of the front leg and this spears to the crowd over wide long-on, for a MAXIMUM to finish the match is some style!
16.1 Spencer Johnson to Aaron Hardie, over the wicket, short on off, tapped off the back foot to backward point, and Josh Inglis was almost run out with the direct hit at the bowler's end!
All over bar the shouting as Scorchers look to complete the job.
