Georgia Redmayne: It was a very tense match. I'm a very nervous watcher. Our stats guy had the numbers up and at one stage, we were behind by one and thankfully Kerr got us the boundary after that. The batting at the end was superb. It's back in place now thankfully [the finger]. It's the first dislocation I have had. Had to get some medical help there. I have batted with broken fingers before and it's been much worse. It was fine, did not affect too much. Litchfield and Jones had a very good partnership. It kind of skidded through and kept low for the pacers. For the spinners it did grip a bit. Usually a quick outfield here, but not as quick with the water out there tonight. Something we pride ourselves in our team is our depth in batting and bowling. We have got Courtney Sippel batting at 11 and she has been getting hundreds in club cricket. That depth helped us today.

Oh it ebbed and flowed much like we expected it to. And for a moment there, having triggered a mini-collapse, the Sydney Thunder were on top despite having to defend just 140. But cometh the hour, cometh the clutch player named Amelia Kerr to stand up and get the job done.

The Heat were off to a slow but steady start, although their batters were living a charmed life in the middle. The Thunder had multiple catching opportunities upfront but made a mess of most of them with Dannielle Wyatt shored up the batting order to open the innings in place of Grace Harris. The latter was given three lifelines on the trot including a missed stumping chance and it seemed as though the Heat could do no wrong.

That said, the bowlers kept it as tight as they could to keep the game in the balance. At 56/2 at the halfway mark, it was game on after Harris got out in freak fashion. Tahlia Wilson copping a blow on her helmet meant that she handed her keeping gloves to Amy Jones and went off the field. But with opener Georgia Redmayne in the middle, the Heat would have fancied their chances.

It didn't help her though that she kept losing partners and once she departed with the score reading 72/5, the Thunder had catapulted themselves in front thanks to a Lea Tahuhu burst. That's when Kerr and Charli Knott combined forces to absorb the pressure and find the odd boundary, even as the Thunder's fielders let them off the hook.

The Power Surge was delayed for some reason despite enough batting to follow. Just as the heavens opened up though, Kerr found the fence at just the right moment to put the Heat in front on DLS. The umpires tried their best to keep it going but it was bucketing down heavily to the extent that they had no choice but to go off. And that was the final nail in the coffin for the Thunder, who have now lost their fourth game this season.

And it's official now! The match has been called off at this point and the Brisbane Heat take the two points by 3 runs via DLS. A fine show towards the end by Kerr and Knott and they have flipped this contest on its head to make it four on the trot for the Heat!

And the umpires have had enough. The covers are being rolled onto the field as the players march back to their respective dugouts. Brisbane Heat are ahead on DLS and jeez, what a comeback this has been by Amelia Kerr and Charli Knott. It could end up being a game-clinching partnership this but let's hope the players are able to return and resume the contest soon.

The Thunder get a change of ball though and rightfully so. It's slippery wet with all the rain there.
