Bugibba Blasters, twice in one day, showed Gozo how big the gulf between them really is. In the second game here, they were supposed to chase down the total set by Gozo without even breaking into a sweat, but they were taken to the last ball of the last over and this is a testament to the courage shown by Gozo.

Gozo will have to go back to the drawing board and introspect as to what they can do better. Their batters need to step up and give their bowlers something to defend in case they are batting first. The Blasters ticked all the boxes in this game, and their skipper Maithani will be rather pleased by his team’s performance.

Gozo, on the other hand, led by wicketkeeper-batsman Senthil Raj, would want to practice harder and apply themselves when put in tough spots by their opponents whenever they face such situations in matches. Their chances of qualifying for the playoffs of this edition of ECS Croatia look rather grim now; they have been knocked out of the tournament.
