A one-sided contest turned into an edge-of-the-seat thriller in the dying moments, and believe it or not, the Volts have emerged victorious in this nerve-wracking contest. Can't ask for a better game to kickstart our weekend and it's gonna get only better looking at the amount of cricket coming our way throughout the day. Do follow Sportskeeda for all the LIVE coverage. On that note, it's time to wrap things up here, hope you enjoyed it. Until next time, this is Pragadeesh and Mohul signing off
Otago Volts won by 4 runs Dean Foxcroft 66(49) | Bayley Wiggins 41(24) Matthew Bacon 5-28(4) | Brett Randell 2-30(4)
A ridiculous finish and the Volts cross the finish line by four runs. Who saw this coming? In fact, everyone has given up on this contest except Matt Bacon, whose double strike in the 18th over gave the Volts a glimmer of hope but still, he had 10 runs to defend in the final over. He had a clear plan and completed a fifer to break the hearts of the Stags, who were cruising along comfortably until the 18th over
Never say never in Cricket. This is Stags' game to be won as they were brilliant with the ball to restrict the Volts to a par total and Wiggins' fireworks inside the powerplay set the tone for the chase. The spinners controlled things in the middle overs but still no one was giving a chance to the Volts. Perhaps that run out off Clarkson proved costly. The Stags can point fingers at a lot of things for this heartbreaking defeat but the heroic effort of Matt Bacon took all the headlines in the end

19.6 Matt Bacon to William Clark, BACON HAS DONE IT! THE OTAGO VOLTS WIN BY 4 RUNS! Fullish outside off. Clark tries to swing away but gets an outside edge that is put down by keeper Phillips. However, the batters do not cross over for a run; it would have served no purpose even if they had.
That was placed to perfection by Clark. 5 needed in the last delivery
19.5 Matt Bacon to William Clark, FOUR! IS THERE ANOTHER TWIST IN THIS TALE? At a length outside off. Clark gets under the ball and manages to drill it past cover and wide of mid off for a boundary! Mid off is up inside the circle. Five runs to win now!
Clark finally gets a strike. What will he do against the fired-up Bacon now? 9 needed off 2
19.4 Matt Bacon to Ray Toole, at a length outside off. Toole swings and misses. They rush off for a bye just as Bacon misses a run out at the other end!
Ray Toole, LHB, walks in at 11
19.3 Matt Bacon to Jayden Lennox, FIFER FOR BACON! LENNOX DEPARTS! At a length outside off, rolls his fingers over it. Lennox makes some room for himself and tries to work it away to the off side but gets a top edge. Hamish Rutherford at mid off stations himself under the ball and takes the catch quite comfortably! Matt Bacon bags a five-wicket haul, but the game is still not over!
Jayden Lennox c Rutherford b Matt Bacon 0 (2b, 0x4, 0x6)
19.2 Matt Bacon to Jayden Lennox, short outside off, banged in hard. Lennox sways under it. That's the last bouncer allowed in this over!
Jayden Lennox, LHB, walks in at no.10
Bacon can't stop taking wickets. Another delivery into the surface and Patel can't clear the fielder at deep square leg
19.1 Matt Bacon to Ajaz Patel, OUT! BACON GETS FOUR! Short outside off, banged in hard. Patel pulls it away towards deep square leg and times it extraordinarily well. The ball, however, goes straight to the hands of the fielder at deep square leg, Ben Lockrose, who accepts the offering gleefully! The Volts are back in this game.
Ajaz Patel c Ben Lockrose b Matt Bacon 3 (5b, 0x4, 0x6)
Rae has done the job and left enough runs for Bacon. Will he be a hero for the Volts? In fact, he is the main reason why this match has gone to the last over. What's his tactic be against Ajaz Patel?
