Gaurav Tomar: The plan was simple with the bat actually - hang in there, play to the merit of the ball, occupy the crease and get set to launch later on. It worked pretty well for me in the end and I'm really pleased with batting tempo today. Hope to keep it going in the remainder of the tournament!

Monty Panesar (Chandigarh Champs captain): Very pleased with out performance today! We won the toss and batted first today, something that we didn't do before, but did it incredibly! The boys are getting better and better with every outing. We want to make sure that all players are well involved and ready before the finals, so we tried out different things today, and the best thing about it is that those worked out! I cannot be a happier captain.

Farveez Maharoof - 200 runs which I thought was way too much. Nothing was going right for us and that was evident in the last 2-3 days. They were smashing for fun, we bowled well in the first 10 overs and they took the game away from us in the final 10. All credit to Chandigarh Champs, they were better than us

A thumping win for Chandigarh Champs with 7 balls to spare! And the lion's share of the credit must go to the spin bowlers of the Champs, who bowled 12.5 overs, gave away 90 runs and 9 wickets!

An initial charge from Rikki Clarke, some decent contributions from Vikram Singh and Dheeraj and a late piece of entertainment from Praveen Gupta were very much the only efforts with the bat to talk about for Patna Warriors.

The catching was pretty impressive from Chandigarh but the ground fielding and pace bowling has room for improvement. But, even without the use of some key players at key positions and times, Monty Panesar's team have been brilliant with both bat and ball.

As for Patna, their job gets all the more tough to make the finals with this defeat. They must come back stronger in all three departments, lest, get knocked out of the race!
