So that will be all from the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram for now. This is Bidipto, saying good bye. Keep following Sportskeeda for more T20 action from around the world!
Shakib Al Hasan (Fortune Barishal captain): It was a good performance overall, however, we can do better with out fielding. We were okay with the ball but the pitch was a really good one to bat on. I wasn't really surprised to have been inserted at the toss, because the wickets have been brilliant this year, so I think it is more about playing well right through the forty overs more than anything else.
Iftikhar Ahmed (Player of the Match): It was a very good wicket to bat on and I enjoyed batting out there for sure! The top order batted really well and as a senior player, it is important to stay till the end to finish the innings, thankfully, I did that and with responsibility. I hope that we keep this winning momentum going and my own game keeps improving.
Shuvagata Hom (Chattogram Challengers captain): The idea behind bowling first after winning the toss, was to back ourselves to chase any total down. We did not start well with the ball unfortunately, and the flow of runs continued from Barishal. Max and Usman did give us a good start with the bat and Ziaur finished entertained towards the end, but we lost the grip towards the middle.
Ziaur Rahman 47* (25) | Abu Jayed - 3/49 Iftikhar Ahmed 57* (26) | Shakib Al Hasan - 1/27
It was a beauty of a wicket to bat on, and the start provided by Usman Khan and Max O'Dowd was definite proof of it, but as the wicket of Usman fell, things slowed down considerably for the hosts as spin started to dominate! Not quite in terms of taking wickets, but putting a lid on the can as far as stopping the flow of runs was concerned.
All the spinners - Chaturanga de Silva, Shakib Al Hasan, Sunzamul Islam and Mehidy Hasan Miraz - kept a tight grip on proceedings and did not let the asking rate come down at any stage through the middle of the innings.
Unmukt Chand struggled to get boundaries, but it was Afif Hossain and Ziaur Rahman, who got themselves going after a vigil, and played some really fine shots on both sides of the wicket. Ziaur Rahman sparkled eveyone with his power-hitting and entertained the crowd with some lusty blows towards the end. Skipper Shuvagata Hom chipped in with a couple of big hits in the end.
But by then, the game was pretty much done and dusted. Although, the seam bowling of Khaled Ahmed and Karim Janat took a lot of tap. Shakib's captaincy, with his field placements and his change in bowling, were both proactive and suitable to the stages of the innings and the context of the game.
With this win, Fortune Barishal move up to 4 points and take their net run rate to the positive side. Chattogram Challengers stay on 2 points and have to stage a smart comeback quickly, so as not to fall behind by too much.

19.5 Chaturanga de Silva to Shuvagata Hom, SIX! Good length slower ball on middle, Hom steps out and CREAMS this over the top for a straight hit, to the left of long-on, for a MAXIMUM!
19.4 Chaturanga de Silva to Ziaur Rahman, short on middle, a step out and a heave down to long-on, for only a single.
19.3 Chaturanga de Silva to Ziaur Rahman, good length ball outside off, a big swing and a miss on the front foot to the slower ball, and some good work to try and stump Ziaur, by Anamul! But he was back in his crease with the right boot, just in the nick of time! NOT OUT from the third umpire!
19.2 Chaturanga de Silva to Ziaur Rahman, full and flat outside off, Rahman makes room to carve over cover, but misses out on connecting! No run.
19.1 Chaturanga de Silva to Shuvagata Hom, round the wicket, short on off and hit hard over mid-off, down to long-off, for a single off the back foot.
