Commentary

The runs were never going to be enough for Czech Republic and all though they did start well, they could not manage to hold on to maintaining the pressure as Germany eventually got through with ease in the end. They needed a partnership to get back and Shoaib Azam, along with Sadarangani gave them just that, bailing them out of trouble.

Shoaib Azam walked in and got going right from the word go, as he took on the bowlers despite all the pressure and changed the game in Germany's favour. 44 runs off just 19 deliveries striking at over 230 was simply phenomenal from him. Two wickets for Satyajit Sengupta but the other bowlers had nothing to show. It was that one over from Naveed that went for 24 runs which really cost them, taking all the pressure off.

Much-needed win for Germany this. Czech Republic, after having started well though, are on a bit of slide having lost consecutive games now, which will make their upcoming matches crucial one's for them. Germany would like to keep the momentum going after a good all-round show here. Well, that is it from this game then as this is Rishab and Karthik signing off. Stay tuned for action coming your way!
