Commentary

Dubai won by 29 runs

Well then, the commentators in Sharjah spoke about how Emirates Blues were the stronger of the two teams, and should win the game comfortably, but Dubai turned over a different leaf, with their bowling today. The spinners put no foot wrong, even Sangwan who went for runs, managed to take a wicket to break the partnership up top.

Harshit Seth was brilliant, picking up 2 early wickets, and gave away absolutely nothing. He was key in this chase, doing the early damage, and setting the platform for the others to come in and take over. Muhammad Farooq came in, and picked up two wickes in his first over, to send half of the batting order back into the hut, and put the Blues into a rut.

5 wickets were already down, and the game was pretty much done. Ismail picked up another one wicket in the second half of the game, and the bowlers did a great job, showing great character, and not giving runs at all. Obviously, they were helped a lot by the batter's who played poor shots and gifted their wickets away.

Zawar Farid was the only one who managed to score some runs in the top order, which was otherwise supposed to be firing on all cylinders. The other 5 of the recognized batter's scored barely 15 runs, before Fahad Nawaz and Danish Qureshi came in to pick up some consolidatory runs.

Farid scored under a strike rate of 100, but Qureshi showed some heroics with his brutal hitting, using raw power and picking the gaps, better than the batsmen could. He scored 27 with three maximums, and took Salman Khan for 15 runs. Although, it was nowhere close to what was required.

Dubai register their second win, and make a strong case for them. But, there still is room for improvement, which they need to work on, if they are to make it into the next round. Man of the match: Abdul Malik - Very good feeling of course, and I'd like to thank the management who believed in me, and sent me up the order. I did well in the last game as well, and they thought they could try me up the order. First time as an opener for me, so it was exciting. We've been a little lousy in the fielding, as we've dropped a few catches in the last few games, and even the middle order in our batting department needs to bat with some responsibility, so we can post more runs on the board.

That's the game then! Emirates Blue despite a strong first and final over, come nowhere near to bother Dubai, who were a different shade with the ball, than they were with the bat. The bowlers did a fine job, and have taken their team to a significant victory.
