Flashbacks of THAT innings against Australia in Derby would have come screaming back given the way Harmanpreet Kaur blew the living daylights out of the England attack today. She went bonkers towards the death, with the visitors racking up 62 off the last three overs and there was simply no looking back thereon. A stunning display by the skipper and it clearly rubbed off on the rest of the team as well with India going 2-0 up ahead of the Lord's ODI. For England, this is a chance to reflect and correct a few wrongs. This is a young squad with many of their A-listers missing, mind you, so this is only going to hold them in good stead whenever a transition happens to arrive upon them.

Harmanpreet Kaur (India Captain and the undisputed Player of the Match for her stunning unbeaten 143): (Series win feels special?) Definitely. When we came here that's what we were looking at. Today was a very important game for us and I'm very happy that everybody who got a chance utilized it. That's something I always enjoy - when I'm leading I'm always in the game. I'm getting all the support from the BCCI, the support staff and the players. When I was batting before my first 50, it wasn't easy to bat on since they were bowling well. I took my time and then Harleen came in and that partnership was very important. I gave that freedom to myself and then played my shots. (On Renuka) She's always giving us breakthroughs. Our team is now depending on her and I'm really happy with the way she's bowling. Whoever got a chance they got breakthroughs today. That's what you want to see. (Is Jhulan Goswami formally going to retire on Saturday?) I think so. We are going to miss her since the way she has been bowling and given us wickets throughout her career has been great. It's great that the younger bowlers are learning and getting feedback from her. We have a chance to play for her (at Lord's). Lord's is somewhere every cricketer wants to play. That will be very special for her since Jhulu di is going to retire there and it'll be a very special match for us.

Amy Jones (England captain): Obviously every loss is tough. They almost flicked a switch and got away from us towards the end. We struggled to defend at the backend there. We didn't get close enough with our partnerships. Very difficult to stop. She was finding the boundary whenever she felt like it. We could have slowed it down in the middle. This is a young side with young bowlers, so it will be a good learning curve for them. No matter where they bowled, she was scoring a boundary. (Inexperienced bowling side) Everyone knows what they can bring to the table. They've had a few great spells over the summer. However, against such a batter in such form, it wasn't the easiest. (On missing Knight and Sciver) Those two mean a huge amount to the team and we would love to have them here but we've given a chance to the youngsters in the T20Is. A younger side here as well. The last game at Lord's is another opportunity for this side to step up and finish on a high. What an occasion and what a venue. It'll be the last game of a long season. We want to we don't need any more incentives. There are still championship points on the line.

Another day, another clinical display by Harmanpreet Kaur and Co. And it was the skipper herself who led the way with a scintillating display of ball-striking, blasting an unbeaten 143 to power the visitors to a mammoth 333/5 with good support from Harleen Deol along the way.

And she took over on the field as well, with her throw catching the dangerous Tammy Beaumont short of her crease. Renuka Singh Thakur saw the back of both Sophia Dunkley and Emma Lamb, even as Alice Capsey's first six scoring shots were all boundaries with the teenage sensation making a statement from the outset.

In the company of Danni Wyatt, Capsey put the innings back on track with the duo taking a particular liking to Pooja Vastrakar's bowling. There wasn't much spin on offer but Rajeshwari Gayakwad kept it tight before Deepti Sharma got Capsey to chip one to mid-off. And then, it was the Wyatt show with skipper Amy Jones also showing positive signs in the middle. That partnership would have got the Indians searching around for ideas and that's where a timely reintroduction to the attack for Renuka did the trick for Harmanpreet.

A scorching yorker castled Wyatt and that's where it all came apart for the hosts. Four wickets in as many overs shut the doors on them firmly with Renuka finishing with a four-fer. India used the opportunity on hand to try out Dayalan Hemalatha and Shafali Verma with the ball and both of them made their presence felt among the wickets.

The fielding was largely good although the odd casual effort was prevalent as well. Charlotte Dean, Kate Cross and Lauren Bell all but delayed the inevitable and stretched it well past the 40th over. Eventually, a fitting culmination was in store as India wrapped up a famous series win in comprehensive and dominant fashion. Stick around to hear from the captains and the Player of the Match.
