Match summary:
Everest win by 8 wickets with 25 balls to spare
Jeevan Lamsal 46*(19) | Mohammad Husain 1/8 (2) Sohail Ahmed 16(18) | Naveed Akhtar 1/1 (1)
The Limassol Qalandars were always up against it, trying to defend a target of 74. Jeevan Lamsal ensured that there were no hiccups on Everest's behalf as he smashed three boundaries in the first over to provide them with the perfect start. The Qalandars' fielding didn't aid them too much either. Lamsal was threatening to kill the game off in the powerplay itself, with his opening partner, Bimal Ranabhat, providing some support.
Naveed Akhtar then went on to provide the Qalandars with a glimmer of hope, ending the powerplay by conceding just one run to go with the wicket of Ranabhat. Hari Chhetri was provided with an opportunity up the order, but he failed to make the most of it, struggling for 5 deliveries before departing. The wheels started to fall off for the Qalandars bowlers after that; they just couldn't land the ball in the right areas, giving away wides for fun, and in a couple of overs, Everest were home and dry.
