That brings us to the end of Sportskeeda's coverage for this Qualifier 1 contest of the Vinci Premier League T10. Lots of cricketing action coming up tomorrow. Loads of ECS matches along with a couple of IPL matches followed by Qualifier 2 in this tournament. So up until the next time, this is myself (Arya Sekhar Chakraborty) signing off on behalf of my fellow commentator and good mate Pragadeesh. Good night!

The Fort Charlotte Strikers batted well but the target was too high and in the end, it was a comfortable victory by 37 runs for the La Sourfeire Hikers as they go through to the finals. The Strikers are not done yet in the tournament and still stands a chance of going through to the final if they win Qualifier 2. It was a good effort by Jonathan Carter and Desron Maloney but they couldn’t quite keep up with the pace and eventually fell well short by 37 runs.
It was a great start as far as the opening combination was concerned. Maloney began with some exquisite shots and Carter wasn’t far either. They were scoring at a good rate but didn’t quite manage to leave up to the required rate. 16 scoring every over is never an easy job and the bowlers did an impressive job, especially in the middle overs.
They scored 54 without losing any wickets in the powerplay when they definitely needed much more wit the fielders inside the circle. Maloney was dismissed by Alston Bobb. Carter started taking the bowlers on and just when it looked that he could something special, Carlos Brathwaite’s double-wicket burst in his opening over all but sealed the deal for the Hikers.
Jonathan Carter managed to almost bat through the innings, eventually getting dismissed in the final over of Gidron Pope but by then the match was done and dusted. He scored 58 off 31 deliveries which otherwise would have been an impressive T10 knock but not when your team is chasing 159. Carlos Brathwaite and Gidron Pope were the pick of the bowlers with a couple each to their name.

The equation is a mathematically impossible now and the Hikers will already start their celebration. They will get one extra day off while the Strikers will need to play Qualifier 2 tomorrow. This has been a good showing from the bowling unit.
