Runs, wickets, runs, wickets, those two words in that exact order can be the best way to describe the Salt Pond Breakers' innings. Put in to bat, Kadir Nedd and Rickford Walker got the Breakers off to a flier, with Walker perishing at the end of the 2nd over with 23 on the board. Nedd followed next over, and then Kadeem Alleyne smashed 22 in the next couple of overs before being dismissed as well. Ryan John then hit 16 before he was caught in a muddle with his partner and fell short of his crease. Stapleton then avenged the run out with 14 off the next three deliveries. He was eventually out in the 9th over for 28, and a half decent finish from the Fort Charlotte Strikers bowlers meant that the Salt Pond Breakers set them a target of 124.
A 44-run opening stand in the first three overs of the chase put the Strikers in pole position, with senior pro Miles Bascombe looking ominous. But then, a couple of game changing overs from Kensley Joseph pulled the Breakers back in the game, and when Bascombe was stupendously caught by Kadeem Alleyne off his own bowling for 42, the tide turned. An erratic and expensive penultimate over from Ryan John meant that the Strikers were still in with a shout, the requirement being 19 off the last over. A six from Joshua James perfectly set the tone for the chasing side, but due to the fact that the two batters were unable to make proper connection off the next four balls made the task virtually impossible, and with 7 required off the last ball, Joshua James swung hard but couldn't get the ball over the ropes, ensuring a 2-run win for the Salt Pond Breakers.

What a comeback, what a wonderful comeback from the Salt Pond Breakers! Halfway into the run-chase, they did not seem to stand a chance of defending this total, the way Miles Bascombe dominated the bowling along with the rest of the top-order! But it was Kensley Joseph, who proved to be the game-changer, as he crucially broke through twice in each of his overs, giving away only 15 runs! Donwell Hector and Joshua James tried their best in the last couple of overs, but the Fort Charlotte Strikers eventually fell agonisingly short!
