Malo came to the ground knowing that they needed to win all 3 matches on the finals day and defeat three of the toughest teams in the competition. It had it all - a stupendous knock of 79 off just 26 by Zain Naqvi, followed by a hattrick and a five wicket over from Shamsher Singh. Oh! did I mention the two stunning catches?
Then, we had a controversial decision which sparked an altercation. Things got heated and spicy in the middle. That just added to the drama. Meanwhile the cricket kept us hooked.
Wickets kept falling from one end and Amir Zaib couldn't get the strike. He eventually did when Syed Maisam used his wits to make sure that he ran himself out in lieu.
Then, we went down the wire. One ball, six to tie and we had the two "players to watch out for" mentioned in the preview facing off. Zaib hit it for a six and we went into the golden ball, which he again smashed for a six and won it for Malo.
Altercation carries on. Umpires in between to stop it from becoming a brawl. It is on a knife's edge. In the end cool heads prevail. Hopefully, it doesn't get ugly beyond the ground.
