What drama, what thrill, a nerve-wracking final over to see Geneva lose their first game in the competition.

Chasing down 127 runs in 10 overs ain't no joke and Cossonay CC has done the unthinkable. Aidan Andrews hung around for a good time despite the top-order failing to put up some show. Waseem Javaid, who came to bat at no. 4 accompanied him for a healthy period of time, reviving the innings to some extent.

Anmol Prabhu (23 off 12) and Ashwin Vinod (28 off 8) were stupendous with their quickires, helping the Cossonay side go past the finishing line with two balls to spare. The lower-middle order changed the complexion of the game in the final two overs, helping their side secure a victory to remember for the ages. Ashwin Vinod swung the bat hard towards long on in the final ball and the fielder at the edge got some hand but the cork deflected over the ropes to see the climax of the contest.

Earlier, Geneva won the toss and elected to bat first. Cossonay got off to a fantastic start thanks to Aidan Andrews, who eliminated the top three in the powerplay. In the opening over, he forced back-to-back wickets, and in the last over of the field limitations, he returned to eke out another wicket.

Rafiqullah Mohammadi, who entered the batting order at position number six, counterattacked the bowlers, followed by Jabil Jabarkhil's ferocious ball-striking.

Jabarkhil hit five sixes, notching up 42 runs off 20 balls before being outwitted out in the last over of the first innings. It helped them get to the 126 runs total from a position that was deemed to be unfortunate at the stroke of powerplay.
