Commentary

Well then, we have come to the end of ECS T10 Malmo and at the end of all the action, Goteborg City have emerged as the new winners, defeating defending champions Ariana Akif quite comfortably in the final. Ariana Akif did not get the start they needed, losing wickets in the powerplay as their top order failed to get going.

None of the batsmen could really get themselves going from there on, as they were constantly kept under pressure. Goteborg kept picking wickets all the way through and ensured that they gave Ariana Akif no chance to comeback. It was Rahim Safi, who was the pick of the bowlers, grabbing two wickets, after making a brilliant contribution with the bat as well. The rest of the bowlers contributing as well, they were terrific in the field as well and this has been a complete all-round effort from the side.

Ariana Akif just lost their way and found it really difficult to find a way to comeback, leaving to much to do in the end and they eventually fell short. Unable to chase the target and defend their title, as they finish runner-ups this time around. Nonetheless, they have been equally good throughout the tournament, and were favorites to make it two in two as well.

Although, it's always good to see a new champion isn't it? Goteborg rightfully being crowned champions and this victory will definitely mean a lot to them as a unit going forward. They're going to be a proud and a happy bunch as they walk of with the trophy.

Wickets continue to tumble for Ariana Akif and this is just not happening for them. It's turned out to be a one-sided final so to say. They do get a couple of sixes but they haven't managed to get all of them in one big over, that they needed to. Too little too late this!
