Thanks for joining me, Mohul Bhowmick and my buddies Sooryanarayanan Sesha and Pratyush Rohra, for this exciting game. Until next time, goodbye!
Sophia Dunkley (Player of the Match): It was a bit touch and go and one point, but I am very proud of the girls today. Glad to go out there and get a win. I just try to hit the ball hard, hit in the right areas and hope for the best. It was a close finish today. Quite happy to come out on top at the end.
Sneh Rana (Gujarat Giants captain): Very proud with the way the girls performed. I am happy with them. The injury is fine, looks better now. Defending is not easy here at the Cricket Club of India. but somehow we managed to pull it off. Annabel (Sutherland) bowls good wide yorkers, so we gave it to her to wrap things up. Very happy that we have got our first points.
Harleen Deol: Feels really good after getting the first win. I just backed myself and I played according to my strengths. (On Sneh Rana's injury) She's a fighter. She will somehow manage everything and play. Her finger was bleeding but she'll be fine.
Smriti Mandhana (Royal Challengers Bangalore captain): I would say in our bowling we gave away 10-15 runs extra. There were 2-3 overs where we could have got quick runs. Maybe if we could have got runs there we would have got closer. It's a good wicket, a good outfield and one end is really short. That did play on a few of our bowler's minds but it's about being hard on ourselves, understanding what is going wrong and then to come back. The way Shreyanka bowled and batted, she's a tough girl. The way even Kanika showed her approach, those two have been very good for us in the last two games.
Gujarat Giants beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 11 runs!
Harleen Deol 67 (45) | Ashleigh Gardner 3/31 Sophie Devine 66 (45) | Heather Knight 2/17
The Giants managed to wrap up a complete game thanks to all-round performances from all of their players. RCB tried to get off to a good start, but skipper Smriti Mandhana's poor performance with the bat bothered them a lot. Sophie Devine tried her best to reduce the deficit, but somehow it was not to be.
Mandhana fell to Ashleigh Gardner, and this was heartbreaking to see. She was displeased with herself as well, but Ellyse Perry's arrival at the crease did give the side from Bangalore some hope. She managed to string a partnership with Devine, but nothing much came of it. Heather Knight walked out to bat a little too low down the order, and by then the game was as good as gone.
For the Giants, Gardner and Tanuja Kanwar were stars with the ball in hand. Annabel Sutherland and Mansi Joshi too chipped in with wickets. Although Tanwar did not pick up a wicket, she bowled exceedingly well. The Giants will be extremely pleased with this performance and take a lot of positives from it. They finally manage to open their account with this 11-run win!
The lusty blows that Patil struck in this over just could not take her side over the line! She tried her best, and as Soorya mentioned, why not get her up the order?

19.6 Annabel Sutherland to Shreyanka Patil, SWING AND A MISS! The Giants are home! Slower full length delivery outside the off stump as Shreyanka backs away this time. Falls over as she reaches for it with a swing without making contact. After two defeats, Gujarat Giants open their account with an 11-run win!
19.5 Annabel Sutherland to Shreyanka Patil, FOUR! Get her up the order, RCB! Short in length outside the off stump and Shreyanka walks across premeditating the line in advance. She pummels it up and over the vacant backward square leg region for a boundary on the bounce
19.4 Annabel Sutherland to Shreyanka Patil, SIX! RIDICULOUS BLOW! Length delivery outside the off stump as Shreyanka walks across her stumps and sits on one knee. She slogs it up and over square leg as it balloons high before soaring long. What a blow!
19.3 Annabel Sutherland to Heather Knight, full length delivery at the stumps. Knight sits low and swipes it across the line but only as far as deep mid-wicket. That's the game now!
19.2 Annabel Sutherland to Shreyanka Patil, STUPENDOUS SAVE! Sneh Rana, take a bow! Into the block hole around the off stump. Shoveled out to the right of mid-off where Rana dives and palms it away with a half-stop to save three runs for her side
Shreyanka Patil, RHB, is the new batter.
Another one bites the dust for RCB!
19.1 Annabel Sutherland to Poonam Khemnar, RAMPED TO SHORT FINE LEG! Full length delivery just outside the off stump from around the wicket as Khemnar shuffles across attempting a ramp. She completely takes her eyes off the ball and gets into an awkward position as it lobs up before short fine leg pedals back and pouches it before falling over. Extremely well held and the equation gets steeper for RCB!
Poonam Khemnar c (sub) Ashwani Kumari b Annabel Sutherland 2 (4b 0x4 0x6)
Annabel Sutherland [3-0-44-1] comes back into the attack.
Just one over to go now. Knight's hit off the last ball of the previous over will give some impetus to RCB, but the road still seems distant at the moment.

18.6 Ashleigh Gardner to Heather Knight, SIX! TIMELY HIT! In the slot outside the off stump and Knight accepts the offering. Sits low and slogs it way over mid-wicket for half-a-dozen to keep the contest afloat. What a fantastic over nonetheless though from Gardner - RCB require 24 runs off the final over!
