An overall display from GA to comfortably chase down the target and register their first win of the tournament. Coming into the must-win match, GA made a change in captaincy with Sri Lankan veteran Sanath Jayasuriya taking over the reins from Yusuf Pathan. And with the decision, GA witnessed a turnaround in fortunes and some prolific performances to keep their hopes alive in the contest.

After bundling out VT for 78, Upul Tharanga and Vishu Khatri gave GA a steady start and ensured not to lose any early wickets. Yusuf Pathan then contributed with a quickfire cameo of 27 runs as GA comfortably cruised to the finishing line at the end.

For VT, Ashok Thakur contributed with two wickets while Malkhan Singh and Bharat Awasthi got one scalp apiece. VT managed to make inroads, but it was a little too late for them to find a way back into the match.

With the win, GA keeps their qualification hopes alive and climbs to the fourth spot in the points table with 2 points while VT remains at the second position with 5 points from 4 games.
