Thankyou so much for joining us for yet another exciting contest! This is Arya and myself (Pranav Danani) who will be taking your leave. Well today is an action packed day full of One Day Internationals as India take on Bangladesh in the Asia Cup. South Africa take on the mighty Australians and England take on New Zealand on their home turf so don't go anywhere as we have you covered here on Sportskeeda. Take care!
Imran Tahir (Guyana Amazon Warriors, Captain) - "We want to be in a situation like that we have to improve and we were put in a situation. We didn't bowl the way we wanted we wanted to try something different and we wanted the challenged. The pitch was also a little dry and the spinners were getting the ball to turn. Well speaking of the conditions, this is something we did our homework about and if we are put in a situation like that then we are ready. Sadly Ayub has got a bit of a groin trouble but we will take a call on what the physio has to say about his health and go ahead. We tried our best but we knew the conditions were going to not be on our side and we will only learn from this for sure."
Sikandar Raza (St Lucia Kings, Captain) - "I felt relieved but didn't want to play a do-or-die game. We want to control the extras which will give us a good chance in the game. Alzari is getting the heat. The wicket was slightly slow a couple of bad balls won't define the player. we trust him in the death overs as he usually bowls from the 17th over onwards. Rajapaksa was outstanding today without a doubt. The last 8 overs were difficult and from the 13th to the 20th over dew played a huge factor. But it is a good learning for us and we are now prepared for a situation like that moving forward."
Bhanuka Rajapaksa (Player of the Match): First of all we made a match out of nowhere. It was great as a Sri Lankan to qualify for the Asia Cup final. I just asked the team management to give his some time. We knew we needed 2 points and good that we got it before the last group game. The timings are different but hopefully, I could be following the scores from our manager. For now, winning matches here is more important to me.
Well that is Game Set and Playoffs for St Lucia Kings here. An amazing display with the bat by the Kings as they seal the spot in the playoffs for their side! Rajapaksa has done a brilliant job with the bat alongside his partner in crime Munro as they liad the foundation for the win here! The bowling side didnt have much as they had a lot of dew to deal with and that surely favored the batters to get a comfortable win.
The first wicket looked like a good start for the bowling side but it was not enough as Rajapaksa stood out with his shots all over the park here. He played a heroic knock and sadly it wasn't the day for the Warriors as even the mistimed shots fell in no man's land! The bowlers were bowling a lot of length delieveries which was easy pickings for the batters to hit the big runs and not much to say here! The Warriors get a taste of defeat for the first time in this contest and it is nothing but celebrations in the Kings' dressing room.
The Warriors will look at this match as a learning for the playoffs to come and well Kings have a lot of responsibility going ahead as they have a chance to get that trophy of the Carabbien home!
17.3 Odean Smith to Sean Williams, FOUR! Game set and match for the St Lucia Kings. That was a length delivery outside off which has been flat batted past the mid-off fielder and it trickles away to the fence.
17.2 Odean Smith to Sikandar Raza, slower back of a length delivery outside off, Raza throws his hands at that but doesn't get the connection he was after. Outside edge down towards the deep third man region for a single.
17.1 Odean Smith to Sean Williams, glides away the good-length delivery a shade outside off down towards the deep third man region for a single.
Odean Smith [1-0-19-0] coming back into the attack
The batters are just a few runs away from sealing the spot in the playoffs here!

16.6 Gudakesh Motie to Sean Williams, full-length delivery a shade outside off, Williams gets his front leg across and sweeps it all along the carpet, down towards deep backward square leg and has to be content with a single.
16.5 Gudakesh Motie to Sikandar Raza, arm ball on a length around middle, nudged away towards the square leg region for a single.
16.4 Gudakesh Motie to Sikandar Raza, FOUR! This has been the worst possible fielding performance from the Amazon Warriors. That was a flatter one a shade outside off, Raza comes down the track and powers it past the bowler and beats the long-off fielder.
16.3 Gudakesh Motie to Sikandar Raza, FOUR! That is powerful from Raza, A half-tracker from Motie, outside off with width provided and Raza pummels it over the extra cover fielder and off to the fence.
16.2 Gudakesh Motie to Sikandar Raza, arm ball on a length around middle and leg, defended from the crease by Raza.
16.1 Gudakesh Motie to Sean Williams, that was an attempted reverse sweep but that turns down the leg side and beats Williams. Good work by Odean Smith in the end to keep it to three byes.

A good over for the bowling side here but the batters are just a few big hits away from winning this one

15.6 Imran Tahir to Sikandar Raza, did Raza get some bat on that? Tahir has taken the review straightaway. That was a flatter trajectory length delivery a tad outside off, Raza gets inside the line of the ball and got some glove on that as suggested by ultra-edge. Single to end the over.
