Match summary: Himachal Pradesh beat Saurashtra by 13 runs.
They needed a win today with the race for the knockouts heating up. A couple of washed out encounters only compounded their problems and after a batting display that was hot and cold, Himachal Pradesh needed its bowlers to step up. And step up they did alright!
It was a steady Powerplay with Saurashtra not really running away with the contest. Even though Tarang Gohel perished after a scratchy stay, Cheteshwar Pujara pressed the accelerator and switched gears seamlessly to power his team along. His pick-up shots and late cuts were a hallmark of his stay as he used the pace on offer to great effect, dictating terms and leaving the bowlers scratching their heads.
The pitch started to slow up though with Mayank Dagar getting the ball to grip and turn. A couple of tidy overs followed but it was a mix-up between Pujara and the in-form Samarth Vyas where the tide shifted as the latter was caught short of his ground. Dagar then struck a double-whammy, removing both Parth Chauhan and Sheldon Jackson off consecutive deliveries as Pujara, inevitably slowing down in the process to absorb the pressure, was left with a lot to do.
He notched up a fine half-century and seemed to restore some assurance along with Prerak Mankad. That said, the seamers used their slower deliveries to great effect and kept chipping away with the asking rate mounting on the Saurashtra batters. Skipper Rishi Dhawan sent down an outstanding back of the hand slower delivery to castle Pujara, effectively sealing the match there.
Chirag Jani and Jaydev Unadkat tried wielding the willow wild, but they were left with far too much to do in the end as the seam attack comprising Dhawan, Pankaj Jaswal and Kanwar Abhinay closed it out with a masterful display at the death. This win has meant that Himachal Pradesh have soared to second position with 12 points and two games still left to be played. Saurashtra's chances haven't taken a dent with this loss, but they'd want to wrap up a win in their last encounter and ensure that their fate rests in their own hands.
A fantastic execution by the Himachal attack in the second half of this defense and they have pulled off a terrific win at the Holkar Stadium. Saurashtra's winning streak has been snapped as a result!

19.6 Vaibhav Arora to Kushang Patel, fullish on leg yet again, Patel sees it brush past his pads for another run now. Or have they missed his pads? BYES signalled. Himachal Pradesh defeat Saurashtra by 13 runs!
19.5 Vaibhav Arora to Kushang Patel, dull and wide on to his feet, Patel swivels away and feels that a wide was incoming but the ump says no!
If only it had come earlier in the innings...
19.4 Vaibhav Arora to Kushang Patel, FOUR AGAIN! Shortish outside off, Patel extends his hands over cover this time to see the ball go for another boundary! Arora us under pressure!
19.3 Vaibhav Arora to Kushang Patel, FOUR! Full and wide outside off, Patel throws his hands at it and sees the ball rush to the deep point fence for a boundary! A little too late in the day?
19.2 Vaibhav Arora to Chirag Jani, yorker on middle and leg, Jani keeps this one out and takes a single to square leg!
19.1 Vaibhav Arora to Chirag Jani, full on off, Jani hits it down the ground to long off for no run. Jani wants the strike.
Vaibhav Arora [3.0-0-28-1] to bowl the final over of the game.
This has been a sensational turnaround post the 10th over with Himachal Pradesh's bowlers standing up to be counted. Just one last bit of execution remains as Himachal Pradesh are one wicket away from a win. Saurashtra require 24 runs off the final over!

This could be touch and go...the TV umpire is looking at a number of angles and rules it out! Saurashtra lose their ninth!
18.4 Kanwar Abhinay to Jaydev Unadkat, OUT! Fulltoss outside off, Unadkat has no option but to hit it and eventually manages to find the fielder at deep cover, who makes no mistake in taking this offering! Unadkat has to depart, but the umpires are looking for a possible no ball for height! The umpires confer with each other, and it is deemed to be a legal delivery!
