Hobart Hurricanes win by 49 runs

Vakarewa whacked a couple of boundaries towards the end, but by then the match went into a contextless stage, with the Hurricanes effectively notching up a victory. The main factor between these two sides were that the Hurricanes were able to take their catches and were a lot more pro-active in their ground fielding as well. The lack of partnerships also contributed to the Thunder's downfall eventually. Having lost both their English overseas early on, skipper Rachael Haynes came together with Phoebe Litchfield to try and salvage the innings and the chase. but once the two of them got out, even with the power surge present, it was always going to be a tall ask from thereon. The middle-order fell like a pack of cards due to the pressure of the run-chase, and in the end, debutant Olivia Porter remained stranded on 17 as the Thunder were bundled out for 95.
