That's all from us then! This is Soumarya Dutta, signing off on behalf of Karthik Raj! See you soon!
Shweta Sehrawat, India Captain - It felt really good to get a game going and credit goes to the ground staff! Responsibilities have increased upon me but I enjoy taking them! The management has also backed us really well and kept us motivated!
Shreyanka Patil , Player of the series- I enjoyed bowling in today's game and the purpose of coming round the wicket was to bring the lbw and bowled into the equation! I look to be aggressive since I've been following Virat Kohli from my childhood! Credit goes to the management for keeping the morale high even though 3 of our games were washed out! Would like to thank the ground staff and the management for making this game happen!
Kanika Ahuja, Player of the Match - I wanted to play till the very end as the wicket was quiet challenging in the beginning! The team management backed me from the start! It was a slow wicket and that helped me in my bowling as well!
Lata Mondol (Bangladesh skipper): No, we have a good batting side. So, thought that this score could be chased. I told before too that our bowling is very strong. We will work on our batting too
Overall, it has been an outstanding campaign for this young Indian side and they've rightly clinched the trophy in the final! Bangladesh did well with the ball but they just couldn't match up to the standards of the Indian spinners and fell well short in the end of this target of 128! It's the second title for this Indian side in 2023 having won the ICC U-19 Women's World Cup in South Africa and it's the sky that will be the only limit for these youngsters from here on!
Bangladesh 96 all out in 19.2 overs Nahida Akhter 17*(22) | Shreyanka Patil 4/13 Sobhana Mostary 16(22) | Mannat Kashyap 3/20
Bangladesh have succumbed to just 96 and it's India A who have dominated here to clinch the ACC Emerging Asia Cup! The run chase never got going for them as they lost three wickets in the powerplay itself! Mannat Kashyap spun a web around the Bangladesh top order and they could never quiet recover from that!
The partnerships didn't happen for them as they kept loosing the wickets! Shohana Mostary was the only one in the top order who seemed to be taking the attack to the Indian seamers but she too perished under the pressure of run rate! There were hardly enough boundaries or sixes in the innings as the flow of runs were choked in the middle overs! Shorna Akhter managed to hit the only six of the innings but she fell soon after trying to hit another one!
There was a brief rain interruption in the middle but that too couldn't dampen the spirits for India! Shreyanka Patil bowled with guile and accuracy and ran through the fragile Bangladesh middle order! Kanika Ahuja chipped in too as she picked up a couple of towards the back end! Nahida Akhter scored some runs at the fag end , to save the blushes for Bangladesh, but it was still not enough to win them the title!
INDIA A WIN THE ACC EMERGING WOMEN's ASIA CUP by 31 runs!
19.2 Titas Sadhu to Sanjida Akter, WHAT A CATCH! INDIA A ARE THE CHAMPIONS! Short of a length and angling down leg, Sanjida pulls it to the left of short fine-leg where Kanika dives to her left and pulls off a stunner. So, India win the final by 31 runs!
Sanjida Akter c Kanika Ahuja b Titas Sadhu 2(7b, 0x4, 0x6)
19.1 Titas Sadhu to Nahida Akter, short of a length outside-off, Nahida flat-bats it in front of long-off for a single
Titas Sadhu [2.0-0-13-0] comes back into the attack.
Sanjida Sheikh just about managed to keep out that over from Ahuja and it's India who look set to lift the title here! They will be looking to close things out on a high!
