So that completes the group stages of this wonderful tournament where we did not know who will play the semi finals till the last ball! This is Dwaipayan Mukherjee, signing off with my co-commentators in Rajarshi and Darpan Tikiya! See you all soon.
Jacques Kallis, South Africa Champions Captain : Yes, it is a bittersweet feeling to not qualify. The boys have given us a great comeback over the last couple of days in order to put us in a position where we could realistically qualify for the semi finals, to stage these performances shows the fighting spirit of the South Africans. The guys will be hurting but we had a lot of fun. Fantastic emotions to be part of this tournament, there has been not one person who has shared that he has not enjoyed a lot through the course of these few days. Always great to be back on the playing field, the quality of cricket has been right up there as well and we could not have been happier to play a role here. We sincerely hope that this tournament stays around for a long time and can't wait to be back again and do it all over again.
Yuvraj Singh, India Champions Captain : Yes, I think we have played our worst cricket but still reached the semi finals, we need to play better cricket and given how things have gone for us, we feel that the only for us is upwards from now. Happy to qualify. I think we bowled well in the last 5 overs but we gave too many runs in the powerplay which is an area that we really need to sit down and plan thoroughly, if we need to win, we need to improve on a couple of areas. Bhajji is a legend, he is a childhood friend and whenever the going gets tough, I am looking at him to not only stop the run rate but also get crucial breakthroughs. (on whether he has played golf) Not recently, but I think I will take the guys out for a round tomorrow!
Jacques Snyman is the Player Of The Match! Here's what he has to say: It was nice to get out there and enjoy myself with all the legends. Was a very good wicket. Definitely swinging about in the first couple of overs, nice to cash in as the innings progressed. They're world-class spinners, showed us in the past. Got nice revs on it, was very challenging to face them.
South Africa Champions (210 for 8) defeat India Champions (156 for 6) by 54 runs
Yusuf Pathan - 54* (44) | Irfan Pathan - 35 (21) Vernon Philander - 2/17 Imran Tahir - 1/18
India qualify for the semi finals and they will play Australia for a place in the final. They had their nervy moments throughout this chase where they were challenged by the Proteas bowling attack on multiple occasions but they have got the job done on a day when plenty did not go their way.
Uthappa began with 23 from 10 balls, embellished with 5 boundaries but then India lost their way as they completed their powerplay at 42 for 3 - which was their worst outing in that phase of the game in this tournament. Vernon Philander dismissed both openers and Ambati Rayudu, who came in as a substitute player in place of Shukla also failed to create an impact
Yuvraj started with a first ball boundary but fell to Tahir's google in the first over after the powerplay, that also saw the spinner bring out the Ronaldo celebration as he pushed India further down deep waters. Raina had to steady the ship, he had anyway started slow - just 4 runs from his opening 11 balls and along with Yusuf Pathan, who had a good batting show against Australia in the last game, the pair needed to bail their side out of this highly precarious position.
The duo decided to drop anchor, ensure no further wickets go down but that led to a soaring required run rate which reached almost 14 and a half while we were still an over away from the halfway point - so South Africa were truly all over the Indian batters as Tahir kept on challenging both the edges of the batters even when they did not want to attack him.
Yusuf Pathan's first 11 balls only yielded 2 runs before he unleashed his attacking prowess as both the batters got a six under their names in the 10th over against Charles Langeveldt. At the halfway mark, they were 66 for 4. Raina left the scene earlier than what he would have liked and it was then down to the Pathan brothers to take their country to the semi finals!
Yusuf was dropped on 31, in the first ball of Tahir's last over when India needed 44 runs from 24 balls to reach 153 and ensure qualification from their side. The brothers were separated following a horrible mix up in the middle which saw Irfan absolute fuming on his way back but Yusuf got a four and a six in the penultimate over against Dale Steyn to keep India's dreams of a semi final berth alive.
The last over had their own ups and downs, with a catching opportunity, a run out opportunity while stealing a bye were not taken as Yusuf Pathan takes his team through. Irfan Pathan gives Yusuf Pathan a kiss on his forehead! That knock deserved it!

19.6 Rory Kleinveldt to Yusuf Pathan, FOUR! India Champions qualify for the Semi Final! Back of a length around middle, Yusuf rocks across, pulls at it, and finds a wide gap behind square! South Africa Champions take the game by 54 runs, but as it turns out, that will account for nothing in the context of the competition!
So much happening now, this has been a thriller!
19.5 Rory Kleinveldt to Pawan Negi, full, right in the slot on off stump, Negi has a wild hoick across the line, meets thin air. The batters chance their luck by going for a seemingly impossible bye, but Levi misses with Yusuf yards out of his ground
19.4 Rory Kleinveldt to Pawan Negi, skied... safe! Banged in short around middle, Negi looked to heave it into the on-side, ended up skying it towards square leg. The batters collect two as Levi chases after it
19.3 Rory Kleinveldt to Yusuf Pathan, on a length around off, Yusuf tries going aerial towards deep mid wicket, doesn't get all of it. Just a single as the ball lands in front of the fielder in the deep
19.2 Rory Kleinveldt to Pawan Negi, back of a length around middle and leg, Negi makes room and cuts this towards deep cover for a single
19.1 Rory Kleinveldt to Yusuf Pathan, on a length around leg stump, Yusuf goes for a pull, toe-ends this towards deep square. Just a single
What an eventful over - the fuming Irfan Pathan will let it all go if his brother can take his side to 153 now. Just 7 more runs needed!

18.6 Dale Steyn to Yusuf Pathan, full outside off, clubbed towards the man at long on. Just a single
18.5 Dale Steyn to Pawan Negi, on a short of length around leg stump, Negi tries swiveling and having a pull, doesn't get bat on it. Leg bye as the ball takes the thigh pad and rolls behind square
18.4 Dale Steyn to Yusuf Pathan, on a length outside off, Yusuf has a wild hoick across the line, gets an inside edge to the left of the keeper, who does really well to dive and make the stop
18.3 Dale Steyn to Yusuf Pathan, FOUR! Full, wide of off, Yusuf throws his hands at it, gets a thick outside edge, and clears the circle towards backward point
18.2 Dale Steyn to Yusuf Pathan, SIX! Slot ball, on a length around off. Yusuf strides towards this, has a mow across the line, and clears the mid wicket boundary!
