A happy captain, Hardik Pandya. And he happily walks up to collect the series trophy before handing it over to his teammates. Jitesh Sharma and Shivam Mavi pose with it in the center while the skipper poses right in the corner - that's a habit with Indian cricketing captains and the tradition continues. This young Indian team basks in the glory of a successful start to the calendar year. Three games in five days is not easy even in the shortest format but the Men in Blue have made it count and have pocketed another series win at home. The Sri Lankan team shouldn't lose heart - they've played brilliantly themselves and if a few moments had gone their way in the first game, they might have hoisted the trophy aloft today instead. But they've played some really good cricket themselves and they'll look to convert it into something more substantial in the one-dayers coming up shortly.

Hardik Pandya (India Captain): (On Suryakumar Yadav) He's been surprising everyone every innings and he's letting everyone know that this batting is very easy. If I was bowling to him, I'd actually get disheartened by bowling to him, the kind of shots he plays. He's playing blinder after blinder, it's becoming a habit with him. Special mention to Rahul Tripathi. The ball was moving but the kind of intent he showed, he set it up for SKY. I just leave him (SKY) alone. You don't have to tell him anything, he's quite experienced. If he finds a situation that is tough we have a chat but otherwise he knows what to do. I am really really proud of him (Axar), the way he's coming down and hitting. The future games coming up, this will give Axar a lot of confidence for that. That has been my motto in life and as a captain as well that I will back my bowlers and players. These are the best Indian cricketers in the T20 format. There is no place in international cricketers for doubts and I make sure the players are fully backed. (What pleased him most this series?) The way we played. In the second game, we didn't play even 50 per cent of our cricket but we competed. Going forward that's a big positive that no matter what we will fight. On our day we will pull it in our favor.

Axar Patel is the Player of the Series! 117 runs at SR 195 and 3 wickets at economy of 7.4! Here's what he has to say: (On being asked about whether he's happy to bowl or bat) Happy with the batting always, like to contribute more with that. (Any more practice this time) Didn't do much, got more confidence from the skipper and listened to him. We plan when there is bowling meeting, but if you think the batters will score it becomes tough, the mindset is always to be on the positive side of it to pick wickets and score runs.

Who else, but Suryakumar Yadav, who is the Player of the Match for that breathtaking innings he played. Let's hear from him: (What kind of preparation goes into it?) I think its really important for you to put pressure on yourself. In the practice session it is important what process you follow. If you put pressure on yourself in the practice sessions it makes it easy during the game. There's a lot of hard work involved but at the same time you have to have a lot of quality practice sessions as well. I just try and keep things very simple. The boundaries behind are just 59-60 metres so I just try and access them (when asked about those scoops). There are a few strokes that are predetermined but you've got to have other shots as well in your armory. The bowlers will try other deliveries as well and you have to prepare for that. (Conversations with Rahul Dravid) He just lets me enjoy myself. He just tells me, 'go enjoy yourself, express yourself'. Absolutely loving it.

Dasun Shanaka (Sri Lanka captain): Before coming here, was not in form but at the start of the series I found myself in good nick and happy with that. The way we played, lot of positives with the bat and it's disappointing with the ball, it's good to see they are playing well. Coming to the series, I had a finger injury and hence couldn't bowl here, but looking forward to bowl in the ODI series. SKY outplayed us in this game and want to wish well for all the Indian players. In the field I want to keep my boys relaxed, they need to learn under pressure and in the middle it's a different game.

Yuzvendra Chahal: Given how the wicket was, I have bowled according to that, stick to the lines and lengths. (On SKY's batting) What he does in nets, you see in the match and the way he bats, he's on a different level and I'm happy he is on our side. (On being asked about Axar's bowling) Axar has been brilliant, the batting and the bowling too good, he's a perfect package and it's tough to bowl to him too and he does clean hitting too. Shanaka batted well in the second game, we concentrated on the positive things and worked on things that we had to.

Two thrillers later, this was a one-sided affair. But it's the kind of dominating display that would add a spring to the step of this young Indian outfit. They've simply bossed this contest after a majestic Suryakumar Yadav ton powered them along to a gargantuan score that was always going to be a task to chase down.

Sri Lanka were off to a fine start though with Kusal Mendis looking in fine touch yet again. The same couldn't be said about Pathum Nissanka but what the visitors needed was a huge knock from one of their top-order batters. That though, wasn't the case, as Axar Patel prized out Mendis to trigger a procession of regular wickets. The target always meant that high-risk shots were to come and that allowed the Indian bowlers to keep chipping away.

The batters weren't able to clear the fence either and sent quite a few down the throat of the boundary riders. Most Indian bowlers did their bit well with the spinners and the pacers sharing the spoils to good effect. Skipper Hardik Pandya led the way and sent down his entire quota of overs while Umran Malik cranked up the speedometers yet again. The Lankan batters swung hard with Dhananjaya de Silva, Charith Asalanka and Dasun Shanaka all getting off to starts. But none of them got anything substantial to boast of and that meant the Lankans were always playing catch-up.

Aside from the margin of victory, what will please India is the manner in which they never shied away from asserting themselves on the contest. Oh, and the returns of Arshdeep Singh is a huge positive as well after the shocker he endured in Pune a couple of nights ago. He did bowl an ordinary first over but thereafter, the slower ones and then the yorker were on cue again. They've done most things right and no wonder then that the Men in Blue have pocketed another series win. Stick around for the presentation ceremony...
