Phew! What a manic contest that was! We need to go catch our breaths and we suggest you do too, before the two teams square off again on Wednesday in the 3rd T20I as the caravan moves to Mumbai's Brabourne Stadium. Harmanpreet Kaur (India Captain): (Talk at the halfway mark) We just thought we'll keep backing ourselves. In the last few games we kept backing ourselves. We felt if we could bat just at a higher strike-rate it would help us. We just wanted to bat with more freedom and that was the discussion. (On Richa Ghosh) I'm someone who has always been backing her. In her initial days she was struggling but I was backing her. I would like to thank our support staff who were always backing her. She has a lot of power. (Areas of improvement) Fielding is something that we've been working on for a long time. We just want to keep working on that. I think we gave away too many runs while fielding. The wicket was too easy to bat on and there was nothing much for the bowlers to do. But fielding is something we want to improve day by day.

Smriti Mandhana (Player of the match for her knock of 79(49b)): I think chasing is something everyone in the team enjoys as well. In a night game, it is always easy to chase as we have a target ahead of us. When they were batting, I watched it closely and said to myself that this is a good pitch to bat on. It is good to see such wickets being prepared for the women's game, it ensures there are high totals and big chases.

Alyssa Healy (Australia Captain): I think we probably just missed a little bit with the ball and they cashed in on that. What a game of cricket that was and what a showcase of what women's cricket is to India in front of I'm guessing 40-odd thousand people. (On the thought behind Graham bowling the Super Over) We thought over whether it was going to be Schutt or HG and we thought we had to go for the bowler who was the best all night. I thought we did an incredible job to stay in the game. India were incredible all chase. But the fact that we hung in there and took it to the Super Over, we can be proud of that. Just that fight - I thought we fought really really hard. Like I said we probably missed a little bit at times and cost ourselves in the field. But the way we hung in there to take it to the Super Over was great. The way they played was brilliant.

Even after 20 overs, nothing separates these two teams. India had a good start, they failed in the middle overs but made a stupendous comeback in the last 7-8 overs. Surely the spectators at DY Patil are glued to their seats. What a match this has been!

India had a superb start to their innings. Both Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana took the bull to the horns and smashed the Aussie bowler to every nook and corner of the park. Alana King was the one to scalp the first wicket of Shafali Verma and Heather Graham followed it with the wicket of Jemimah Rodrigues. Smriti got to her 50 and played a superb knock before knocking one back onto her stumps. Harmanpreet Kaur struggled in her innings and all looked lost after the wicket of Mandhana.

But Richa Ghosh had other plans. The young batter smashed 26 runs in 13 balls and brought the match to the balance. Deepti Sharma lost her wicket but Devika Vaidya became the hero for India as he managed to get a boundary to take the game to a super over.

Australia's bowling was good but they lost the plot and ended up making a mess of their target defence. Debutant Heather Graham was their highest wicket-taker as she picked up three wickets. She was aided by Alana King and Annabel Sutherland who picked up a wicket each. Megan Schutt didn't have the best of the games but did her part in bowling a good last over.

Coming to the super over. Ghosh started with a bang, smashing one straight down the ground and making her intentions clear. She lost her wicket on the very next delivery. But Smriti Mandhana didn't hold back and smashed two more maximums. India finished with 20/1 at the end of their over.

Renuka Singh Thakur had the ball in her hands and she did the job by bowling the first three balls really tight, not giving the batters any breathing room and picking up the wicket of Ashleigh Gardner. Alyssa Healy smashed the last one for a maximum, but it doesn't matter as India won the match and beat the Aussies for the first time this year in T20Is

0.6 Renuka Singh Thakur to Alyssa Healy, SIX! ANTICLIMAX! BUT INDIA PREVAIL! By the skin of their teeth! Rank full toss angling into middle and leg stump as Healy shuffles across her stumps. She brings out a pick-up across the line and deposits it well over the long leg fence but it doesn't matter. It's a legal delivery and that is all the hosts need. India clinch a manic thriller and prevail in the Super Over to level the series 1-1!

0.5 Renuka Singh Thakur to Alyssa Healy, FOUR! MISFIELD! Follows the batter shuffling across with a full one outside the tramline. Healy gets underneath it and slices it towards deep backward point where Harleen Deol, on as a substitute, dives, only for the ball to evade her to the fence. The Indians are all smiles though - they know they're nearly there!

0.4 Renuka Singh Thakur to Tahlia McGrath, JUST A SINGLE! Full outside the off stump and McGrath can only cream her drive along the carpet to mid-off for a lone run. Now all Thakur has to do is send down two legal deliveries!

Slower delivery in the slot outside the off stump again as Gardner shuffles across and gets underneath it to launch it down the ground. Props to Harmanpreet Kaur as she places her best fielder on the park in the hotspot as Radha pouches it at long off before letting out a huge roar!

0.2 Renuka Singh Thakur to Alyssa Healy, THAKUR FUMBLES! And the batters nearly steal a second! Oh cut the tension with a knife if you can! Slower one well outside the off stump as it dips in a touch. Healy shuffles across and powers it on the up to mid-off from where Harmanpreet fires a throw to her bowler who makes a mess of it. Healy was a countrymile short and with Thakur hanging her head down in dismay, the batters almost steal a second only for Harmanpreet and Thakur to run after it and prevent it

0.6 Heather Graham to Smriti Mandhana, BRILLIANT EFFORT! AND A FUMBLE! Full on leg stump as Mandhana makes room and swings for the bleachers in front of square. Mooney gets across from deep mid-wicket and somehow manages to collect it on the bounce and parry it back as she clears the ropes and the replays go on to confirm that it was a clean effort. And a brilliant one at that - except thereafter, the throw comes to the keeper and Harmanpreet pulls Mandhana through for a non-existent third run. She had to, since it was the last delivery and Healy fires a throw only for Graham to fumble as it rockets to long on. Phew - India finish with 20/1 in the Super Over!
