ireland XI have done it. They equaled the record of the fastest chase in ECN cricket. Max Burton was the destructor in chief scoring 30 from just 8 balls and chasing down the target of 45 within 2.1 overs. John Matchett played a supporting role with just 9 runs off his bat. Ireland XI have now moved to the top of the table with a huge boost to their net run rate.
Czech Republic didn't really have anything to play for in the 2nd innings. Their batting failed big time and the bowling too didn't really trouble the openers making the chase easy for the opponents. Their net run rate has taken a hit once again with another loss and are now at the bottom of the table with 2 losses in as many games. They need to quickly turn things around in the coming games trying out better batting combinations to set up a decent total on the board to fight.
2.1 Abul Shohas Farhad to Max Burton, SIX! Finished in a flash. Slow delivery on middle and leg, Burton bends low, picks the length nicely and heaves it over deep mid-wicket.
They have just blown the opposition away in just two overs. Ireland XI needs 6 runs to win and should be able to finish the game in this over given Max Burton is on strike. They have a record to equal if they finish the match on the first ball of this over, they will equal the record of chasing the target in just 2.1 overs in all ECN cricket, not just in ECC.

1.3 Naveed Ahmed to John Matchett, back of a length delivery, chopped down to cover
1.3 Naveed Ahmed to John Matchett, 5 WIDES! Fired quicker wide outside off, it goes between the keeper's palms and runs away to the fence
