Quetta Gladiators have managed to chase down the target of 200 just inside the 20 overs. It was a good team effort in batting. They got decent start from the openers. Jason Roy again looked sublime with the bat. Ahsan Ali also did well inside the powerplay. Once they lost Jason Roy, it looked like Islamabad will come back into the game and dictate terms. Quetta kept their calm in the middle over though they didn't manage to score quick runs. They needed over 12 runs per over from the final 5 overs and Umar Akmal played the perfect cameo of 23 runs from just 8 balls providing the much needed momentum into finishing the innings. Once he got out, Sarfaraz took over and found boundaries at will in the last couple of overs finishing it in the final over.
Islamabad United came into the innings break with much confidence and momentum. They couldn't start off well in the powerplay but came back well in the middle overs. Shadab Khan was the standout bowler picking 3 wickets in the middle. Other bowlers didn't support much and that caused them to lose in the final stages of the game.Hasan Ali and Mohammad Wasim Jr had a nightmare of outings today and will look to forget this quickly.
Quetta Gladiators are now joint 3rd in the table with 6 points under their belt. They are equal with Islamabad United but their NRR is on the poorer side. We still have quite some distance to go in the tournament and the battle is getting heated up for the race to the playoffs.
What a run-feat we had tonight! The match ebbed and flowed and we had a last-over thriller in an incredible chase. Batting first Islamabad United were at one stage struggling at 102/5 but then a cameo from Faheem Ashraf lower down the order took Islamabad United to 199. In the chase Quetta Gladiators themselves were in a spot of bother at 139-4. But Sarfaraz Ahmed scored an unbeaten fifty to guide his home.
Sarfaraz Ahmed: I was trying for a partnership. Roy played a very good innings at the top of the order. But Umar Ukmal's innings turned the match for us. The way Afridi and Noor bowled it was good for us. The way Afridi bowls I was hopeful that he could take wicktes.
Sarfaraz Ahmed is the Player of the Match for his Unbeaten FIFTY!
Shadab Khan: The way Roy started and Umar's innings and the way Sarfaraz finished, that took the game from us. The way we batted it is a positive for us. The format is such that we can get bowled out on 100 but the way we finished it was good.
Jason Roy: We have been chasing 200. We just had to win. We had a tough start to the tournament. We have to win every game now. The captain is very pationate. Every game is different. We have to keep pushing hard.
What a finish we've had here in this game. It didn't looked like Quetta will cross the line at the half way stage of the chase after losing both the openers. Sarfaraz was the man for Quetta who made it happen doing the job for the team and calmly walks back to the dugout. Gladiators win the game with 3 balls to spare and get 2 more points to go equal with Islamabad United.

Couple of singles from the first two balls. Sarfaraz back on strike and he will be the man for Quetta. Islamabad need to get a dot or pick the wicket of Sarfara otherwise the game will slip out of their hand.
