Karachi didn't have the best of campaigns thus far, but who knows, this win could revive their whole campaign. The crowd came in good numbers to support their team and the boys lived up to the expectation today and sign off the home leg with a thumping win. Alright, one down and one more to go in Lahore as the Qalanders will battle it out against Zalmi in less than an hour. Do join us for the LIVE coverage of that match, now, it's time to end the coverage here. Until next time, this is Pragadeesh and Bidipto signing off
Imad Wasim (Karachi Kings captain) - We played really well. If we bowl according to our plan, we are a tough team to beat but having said that, we lost matches by very small margins. These are the opportunities to grab and Tayyab had a great domestic tournament and he just carried out his good form. Shamsi is a world-class spinner and he did the job for us
Mohammad Rizwan (Multan Sultans captain): We bowled really well on this wicket and we started pretty nicely with the bat too. But because they were able to take wickets at regular intervals through the middle and so, were able to win the match. Credit needs to go to them, more than anything else.
Tabraiz Shamsi has been adjudged the Player of the Match! Here is what he has to say.
Tabraiz Shamsi: Tt was a long wait, but today, it was my day and I made the most of it! The pitch did grip and the rest of the spinners helped me settle into rhythm. Always nice to get wickets under the belt and get the job done clinically. The celebration of the phone call today was dedicated to Mohammad Amir, who asked me to call him if I get a wicket!
It is time now, for the post-match presentation!
Karachi Kings won by 66 runs Tayyab Tahir 65 (46) | Mohammad Rizwan 29(25) Shoaib Malik 3-18(3.3) | Ihsanullah 2-22(4)
Shoaib Malik registers his best bowling figures in PSL as the Kings get a thumping win over the table-toppers in front of a rapturous crowd. Multan didn't really figure out a way to play the spinners as Karachi's spin trio were all over the batters and picked up eight wickets. At the start, Shan Masood got the lifeline from Matthew Wade and he smashed 25 runs from 16 deliveries, while Rizwan played at his usual pace until the spinners were brought on
Shamsi and Malik bowled in tandem once the powerplay got over and the duo ran through Multan's middle order. Once Rizwan got out, his team just fell apart to some spin magic, losing six wickets for just 31 runs. The wicket assisted slow bowling in the second innings and the Karachi spinners used the conditions effectively to their advantage
16.3 Shoaib Malik to Abbas Afridi, THAT WILL BE THAT! LBW! A REVIEW HAS BEEN TAKEN THOUGH. Good length flatter ball on middle-and-off. Abbas Afridi goes for a big heave across the line on the back foot and misses. The ball goes on to hit him on the back thigh pad and the umpire finds him right in line with the stumps!
It is a fair delivery. There is no bat on ball, as per UltraEdge. And Ball Tracking confirms that the ball would go on and hit the stumps! The review gets wasted by Multan, but it does not matter, as they are defeated by 66 runs!
Abbas Afridi lbw b Shoaib Malik 2 (5b 0x4 0x6)
16.2 Shoaib Malik to Abbas Afridi, full, slow and wide outside off. A mishit over the top to mid-on's left, for a safe landing, and a single. Oh no, Abbas Afridi thinks it is better to keep strike. He refuses the single.
16.1 Shoaib Malik to Abbas Afridi, round the wicket, full and in the block hole. Well dug out from the crease, for no run.
Karachi are one wicket away from a massive win. Can Shoaib Malik finish things off now?

End of Imad's magnificent spell. He proved expensive at the start as Masood smashed him for a couple of boundaries, but was so clinical in his second spell, picking up two wickets to his name
