It was an absolute cliffhanger and bringing the action to you has been given us the utmost pleasure. I, Darpan Tikiya, and my colleague Arya Sekhar Chakraborty have enjoyed every minute of it but it's now time to say goodbye. Stay tuned to Sportskeeda for more sporting action.
Sherfane Rutherford, player of the match: I'm fortunate to have gotten the opportunity. It's never easy to come out and get going from the get go but that's what we are paid for and I was trying to do my job. We were talking about staying in the moment and not thinking too far ahead. I think that plays a big part. I try my best. Sometimes it doesn't click. But I try to do my best all the time.
Rilee Rossouw, captain, Quetta Gladiators: I think it was a great game of cricket. Everyone enjoyed that! Sherfane was amazing and Akeal too played his part. Everyone's on the same page and we want to win. We chased down the target on a tricky wicket. We are happy with the combination we have chosen.
Quetta Gladiators win by 5 wickets.
Sherfane Rutherford 58* (31) | Abrar Ahmed 3/31 James Vince 37 (25) | Zahid Mahmood 2/17
WHAT AN ABSOLUTE HUMDINGER OF A MATCH! Game of the season thus far for me. It was like a rollercoaster ride full of ups and downs and thrilling bends.
Karachi Kings got off to a fantastic start with the bat only to lose momentum in the middle of the innings. Then, a dropped catch, which Anwar Ali made the most of, helped them to get to a fighting score of 165. Karachi bowled well, but the fielders kept on squandering chances. Roy was given 4 lives before he eventually got out.
Then, Quetta went from 69/1 in 8 overs to 95/5 in 13. Then, we had the match defining partnership between the two southpaws from the Caribbean. Rutherford displayed sumptuous hitting and Hossein proved to be the perfect support act. In the end, it came down to 15 off the last over and Anwar Ali was once again in the thick of things, this time with ball in hand.
We saw two sixes, two almost perfect yorkers, a squandered run out chance and eventually the winning runs coming of Rutherford's blade. Quetta Gladiators get their 4th win in the tournament, while Karachi lose two in consecutive nights.
Shane Watson, head coach, Quetta Gladiators: My heart rate is still pretty high. What a game! There was plenty going on there and Sherfane Rutherford was fantastic. It's crucial when you have a partnership like that that you trust each other and keep each other calm. It's awesome to be back in Pakistan. I have nice memories as a player. It's good to be back as a coach. Definitely less stressful.
Shan Masood, captain, Karachi Kings: We put ourselves in a real good position but failed to close it out. We let off many chances in the field. I thought we had a good start and then had a blip in the middle but came back well. But then lost momentum right before the finish. We could have otherwise got ourselves to 180. We need to be better with bat, bowl as well as in the field. It's nice that we now have a couple of days off. We need to pick up the results now.

19.6 Anwar Ali to Sherfane Rutherford, FOUR! Off it goes away to the fence as Rutherford guides the Quetta Gladiators to their 4th win. Helps away the back of a length delivery on the pads, down towards the vacant deep backward square leg region.
Most fielders are in. Long on is back on the boundary.
One ball to go.... A super over is still a genuine possibility! 1 run to win off 1 ball.
THIS HAS GOT MORE DRAMA THAN A KARAN JOHAR FLICK! WHO IS WRITING THE SCRIPT!!?! It should have been a four, but man at the edge of the circle dived and saved a certain four. Then, Rutherford was smart enough to STEAL A DOUBLE there. A throw at the other end could have gotten them a certain wicket.
19.5 Anwar Ali to Sherfane Rutherford, that's a low full toss outside off, Rutherford slices it away off the outside half of the bat, down towards the short third man region, takes a single and what has Rutherford done here? He has returned for a brace. The short third man fielder was not releasing the ball and by the time he did, Rutherford was almost down towards the striker's end and ends up making it. Just 1 required off 1 delivery.
ALL THREE RESULTS STILL POSSIBLE!
With the pressure at it's highest, Anwar Ali has landed two yorkers ON THE MONEY!
19.4 Anwar Ali to Sherfane Rutherford, another top class yorker from Anwar Ali, nails it and it goes under the bat of Rutherford.
He gets the yorker spot on. And the drama continues........
19.3 Anwar Ali to Sherfane Rutherford, Anwar Ali nails the yorker, a shade outside off and that goes under the blade of Rutherford. 3 required off 3.
THIS IS SUBLIME HITTING FROM RUTHERFORD!! AND HE GETS TO A WELL DESERVED FIFTY WITH THAT!
19.2 Anwar Ali to Sherfane Rutherford, SIX! That's again in the slot, a tad outside off and Rutherford mistimes this down the ground but still clears the long-off fence. In the slot and that has just cleared Kieron Pollard at long-off. 3 needed off 4 deliveries.
A SIX OVER EXTRA COVER! ANWAR DIDN'T MISS BY MUCH! But with Rutherford in such mood, the margin for error is close to zilch.
19.1 Anwar Ali to Sherfane Rutherford, SIX! On a fullish-length a shade outside off, hands through the ball as he sends that well over the widish long-off fence. Absolutely clubbed from his presence.
