Commentary

So, that brings an end to a pretty one-sided victory for Quetta Gladiators. They will be happy to register the first win of this season after losing a high-scoring encounter against Peshawar Zalmi. On the other hand, Karachi Kings have had the worst possible start to the season with two big losses. They will want to someone inspire and change the fortunes of the side. The Babar Azam-led side don't have much time to rest as they will be taking on Lahore Qalandars in the night match tomorrow. This game will be preceded by the fixture between Peshawar Zalmi and Islamabad United. Do join Sportskeeda's live coverage for those matches too. Sarfaraz Ahmed | Quetta Gladiators captain: The credit for today's win goes to our bowlers. Naseem was outstanding. I just asked my speedsters to use their pace. He (Hasnain) had a great domestic season and I'm happy that he's grabbing the opportunity here.

James Faulkner: The early wickets set a good platform. So far, so good. One win and one loss. T20 is different with 48 hours. Mostly teams that bat second win and the case no different today. There are so many young Pakistani pacers popping up and today was Naseem's day. Yes, it feels good to play in Pakistan. The region has been deprived of a lot of cricket but hopefully that will end soon.

That is it, Sarfaraz Ahmed wraps up the eight-wicket victory in style by producing a hat-trick of boundaries. Karachi Kings' total of 113 was never going to be enough and Quetta Gladiators have proved it by winning this match with 25 balls to spare!

The opening duo of Ahsan Ali and Will Smeed came into this game after producing superb fifties in the first game against Peshawar Zalmi. They carried that form into this chase by playing very safely if not in a dominant manner! Both Smeed and Ahsan found scoring particularly comfortable against the seamers like Aamer Yamin and Mohammad Ilyas while they were cautions against Imad Wasim and Mohammad Nabi.

After a long search for the initial breakthrough, Mohammad Ilyas came up with a wicket in the 12th over when Will Smeed smacked the ball towards sweeper cover where Tom Lammomby took a stunning catch. After struggling for a bit, Ben Duckett also departed cheaply as he got run-out for just two runs. Quetta Gladiators' chase suddenly got a bit frantic as Sarfaraz Ahmed and Ahsan started to take some risky singles. However, things settled down soon enough as Ahsan brought up his fifty with a number of boundaries. The skipper Sarfaraz also followed suit to finish the game in some style.
