Oweis holds his nerve! As cool as a cucumber he is after the ball bounces off the fielder at long-on, and Gelsenkirchen breathe, they get to breathe, they are still in the tournament! Look at Palaniappan, he's rushed off towards the dugout maniacally! Owies isn't able to get his half-century, but it matters the least to him, his team still have a chance of making it to the knockouts!

Koln did put up a great fight in their quest to defend the total of 93. They picked up a few early wickets, the pressure was on the batting team all along until Naresh Pavaluru joined Muhammad Oweis in the middle. Pavaluru's arrival injected some much-needed impetus into the chase and the hopes of Gelsenkirchen in this tournament. Muhammad Oweis, taking inspiration from the same, started to pepper the boundaries with some big hits and sweetly timed strokes. He continued to be the aggressor after Pavaluru's departure, and Arif Jamal accompanied him as they fought until the last ball of the match. Jamal fell short going for the winning run, and after 70 ECS matches, a match was decided by a Golden Ball. It was just about an extension of the final over, with Asmdin Zadran bowling to Oweis with a different non-striker. The non-striker, Rubesh Palaniappan's services weren't quite needed as Oweis hit the ball hard towards long-off, who botched up the stop, and VfB Gelsenkirchen had their first win of the tournament!

The pressure got to the fielder there and it cost him the match! But a much needed win this for Gelsenkirchen to keep themselves in the tournament still.
