The scorecard would not tell you how entertaining this match was. The Lankan Lions were desperate for their first ECN victory. They gave it their all. The fielders dived around to save every run. On some occasions, they amazed us with their athleticism. On other, they got themselves into comical tangles making us laugh. But in the end, they played with huge smiles on their faces and ended up winning with a bonus point.

The victory was set up by an intent-full knock by Buddhika upfront that helped them put a big score on the board. Then a terrific spell from Lahiru Sanjeewa broke the back of the Zinitis batting. Though, a good cameo from Murugan Jegan towards the end, brought Zinitis in the hitting distance of a point, the Lions held their nerve and ensured that they got all 4 from this match.

In the end, it is a comprehensive win. A win that the Lions will remember for a long long time.
