That is all we have from another brilliant game tonight. The action is only getting bigger and better as the 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) continues with newbies Gujarat Titans taking on Punjab Kings at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai tomorrow. You certainly do not want to miss the action and we would love for you to join us back as we will bring you the coverage. We look forward to your company once again. Do stay tuned for all cricketing action going around elsewhere as well. This has been Shashwat and me (Raghav) signing off for the night. Have a good night and do take good care of yourselves. See y'all folks!
Quinton de Kock (Player of the Match): It was just a matter of reacting to what was in front of you. It was a score that could be chased down. You want to get off to a good start on the powerplay, and we didn't want to get ahead of ourselves in the chase. It was critical to keep wickets under control. Although Prithvi made it appear simple, I found it to be a sluggish surface. There was some grip even with the dampness. It would have been difficult if we were chasing 180, but due to our bowlers, we were able to do so.
KL Rahul (Lucknow Super Giants captain): I think we were brilliant with the ball. We certainly need to go back and improve on the powerplay. But that's how powerplays sometimes go. After that, we took a good look at everything and improved our bowling. Obviously, the bowlers should have assessed the situation a little earlier, but it was wonderful to watch them talk about the lines, lengths, and pace to bowl after the powerplay. Actually, that was the genuine cause (on him saying at the toss that he had no idea why he opted to bowl). You can't just make something up every time. You have no idea what to anticipate from the pitch. Teams may wish to bowl first early in the match when the pitches are still fresh. Teams may want to bat as the competition progresses and the pitches grip a little more. Badoni has held his nerve every time he has gone into bat and he's delivered for us under pressure. Great learning for him, important for him to keep working hard and stay humble. Been a complete team effort so far. The way everyone has stepped up has been incredible.
Rishabh Pant: When the dew is like that, you can't be complaining. As a batting unit, we thought we were 10-15 runs short and credit to them for pulling it back. We talked about giving our 100% till the last ball and we want to do that irrespective of where the game is going. I think the power play was fine but we didn't get any wickets. We were hoping that we would change the game in the middle overs. Our spinners bowled well but we were 10-15 runs short
Lucknow Super Giants - 155/4 in 19.4 overs (Quinton de Kock 80 off 52, Kuldeep Yadav 2/31 in 3.4 overs) beat Delhi Capitals - 149/3 ( Prithvi Shaw 61 off 34. Ravi Bishnoi - 2/22 in 4 overs) by 6 wickets and with 2 balls to spare.
What a win, what a win for the Super Giants! They have registered their third win in a row now and things are just starting to work out for the new franchise.
Heading into the run chase, they were the favourites to win this tie. They were off to a good start in the powerplay with the openers adding 48 runs in there. Quinton de Kock made sure that his side was off to a flyer while KL Rahul held one end. Kuldeep got rid off the Lucknow skipper and brought some life to the game.
Lewis departed soon as he looked very susceptible to the spinners. The dew came into play and Nortje suffered the most from it. A couple of height no balls from the South African meant he had to be taken off the attack. de Kock feasted on his fellow countryman and took him to the cleaners. Quinton's wicket came a bit too late but things did get close again.
19 runs were needed off the last couple of overs and Krunal and Hooda were struggling to get bat on ball. However, Krunal stepped up in the penultimate over. A maximum followed by a hat-trick of doubles ensured that the Super Giants would only need 5 runs off the final over which they chased down with ease.
Badoni finishes off in style! Not the first time in this season and definitely not for the last time.
19.4 Shardul Thakur to Ayush Badoni, SIX! WHAT A WAY TO FINISH IT OFF! Right in the slot outside off stump and Badoni just sits back in his crease before crunching it over mid off for a maximum!
Lovely stroke! Badoni finds the gap and justifies why he was sent ahead of the experienced campaigner Holder. The scores are level now.
19.3 Shardul Thakur to Ayush Badoni, FOUR! SHOT! Low full toss outside off stump and Badoni climbs into it! He goes deep into his crease and creams it past extra cover for a boundary!
Very brave delivery from Shardul Thakur! Badoni is surprised by the decision. 5 off 4 now...
19.2 Shardul Thakur to Ayush Badoni, slower bumper outside off stump that sneaks just inside the tramlines. It is okay on height too as Badoni lets that one go through to the keeper
Ayush Badoni, RHB, comes to the crease
WICKET! They say it's not over till it's over and they are absolutely right. The hopes are still there for DC. Hooda has to go and the game is very much alive here at the DY Patil Stadium!
19.1 Shardul Thakur to Deepak Hooda, OUT! STRAIGHT TO THE MAN! Slot ball outside off stump and Hooda has hit that straight to deep cover point, would you believe it! Hooda was probably trying to go over extra cover but was a touch late into the stroke, meaning that he sliced it to Axar, who came forward and completed a sharp catch diving forward! DC hanging by the proverbial thread!
Deepak Hooda c Axar Patel b Shardul Thakur 11 (13b 0x4 0x6)
Krunal has done enough damage in the penultimate over to put Lucknow close to the line. Only 5 runs are needed in the final over. Skipper Pant is having a chat with Shardul Thakur, a lot rests on him. Here we go, Shardul to bowl the final over!

18.6 Mustafizur Rahman to Krunal Pandya, full toss outside off stump. Pandya throws his hands at it and skews it over the man in the ring at extra cover for a couple of runs
18.5 Mustafizur Rahman to Krunal Pandya, yorker outside off stump. Pandya goes deep into his crease and squeezes the ball past extra cover to pick up another brace
18.4 Mustafizur Rahman to Krunal Pandya, length delivery angled into the batter on leg stump. Pandya makes a bit of room for himself and drills the ball towards long on for a brace
This one has disappeared in the stands! Lucknow desperately needed that big hit and now the chase is well under their control. 11 needed off 9.
