The target of 45 was never going to challenge Gogo Zalmi, as they chased down the target in the 6th over with 5 wickets in hand. Right from the word go, there was a cluster of wickets. Three fell in the very first over despite them getting a couple of boundaries.
Muthu Kumaran bowled brilliantly and took 3 crucial wickets to put Gozo Zalmi under pressure. However Sawab and Shakir Afridi ensured that they got over the line with ease. Sawab was dismissed on 20 off 14 deliveries but by then the match was almost sealed. Shakir made 10 off 8 deliveries and remained unbeaten.
Waqar Mehmood bowled brilliantly earlier in the day, bagging 3 wickets and was isntrumenat in restricting Mater Dei to a below par score of 44. Samuel Stanislaus was the top-scorer with 18 but couldnot power them to a competitive total.
That was a comprehensive win for Gogo Zalmi in the end. Powered by fluent knocks by Shawab Afridi and Sakir Afridi, they chased down 48 in the 5th over.
