Alright. That's that from this ECS contest, Southern Crusaders cruised to victory and won the game fair and square. Do join for another ECS action that is coming up in about 40 mins or so. Until next time, on behalf of my friend Pragadeesh, this is Pradeep, signing off, stay safe and take care!
Southern Crusaders won the game by 8 wickets!
Southern Crusaders 76-2 after 4.5 overs | Basil George 40(14)* | Pintu Ghosh 2-0-28-1
This was expected from the Crusaders, this time it was Basil George who took the game from the scruff of the neck and sealed it inside the five overs in the end. In 14 deliveries, he's smashed the Mater Dei bowlers to all parts of the ground with four sixes and three boundaries.
Mater Dei after posting a meagre total on the board, needed a good start but they didn't, they went for runs but they did pick up a couple of wickets but George was in a different mood and went after the bowlers in some fashion.
Plenty to ponder for the Mater Dei, they have lost two out of the three games and with the games coming in the next week, they need to step up and ensure they are in the contention always.
As far as Southern Crusaders are concerned, well, they have won four out of four now, looking unstoppable at the moment and they'll only get better from here on and they are another team to beat as well.
4.5 Michael Nazir to Basil George, SIX! GAME, SET AND MATCH! This was pure carnage from George, he's looking in some ominous form at the moment. Length delivery on the off-stump, George sat down on one knee and DISPATCHED it way over deep mid-wicket fence for a maximum.
4.5 Michael Nazir to Basil George, FIVE WIDES! Length delivery but down the leg-side, George swings and misses, they pick up five wides in the end.
Just 8 needed now!
4.4 Michael Nazir to Basil George, SIX! BOOM! Astonishing shot from George, picked the bones out of that one as he's nailed the reverse sweep, that went sailing over deep backward point fence for another maximum.
4.3 Michael Nazir to Affy Khan, drops it short, well outside the off-stump as Affy on the backfoot slapped it over the covers for another single.
4.2 Michael Nazir to Affy Khan, drops it short on the off-stump, Affy on the backfoot looks to pull but mistimed it to square-leg fielder for no run.
4.2 Michael Nazir to Affy Khan, WIDE! Length delivery but loses the radar, went way outside the tramline, called a wide.
4.1 Michael Nazir to Affy Khan, SIX! BANG! Length delivery on the fourth stump, Affy fetches it from outside off and SMOKED it flat over deep mid-wicket fence for a maximum.
Michael Nazir comes on to bowl now!
George is in some mood here, he's been able to take the attack to the opposition and has clobbered Ghosh in that over with a maximum and a couple of boundaries.

3.6 Pintu Ghosh to Affy Khan, back of a length on the off-stump, Affy on the backfoot clipped it to mid-wicket to pick up another single.
3.5 Pintu Ghosh to Basil George, back of a length on the off-stump, George on the backfoot taps it into the off-side for a quick single.
3.4 Pintu Ghosh to Basil George, back of a length, angling it across left-hander on the fifth stump, George has a big swipe across the line and misses.
3.3 Pintu Ghosh to Basil George, FOUR! Length delivery on the off-stump, George skips down the track and carves it over the covers, runs away and finds the ropes again, sloppy effort from the sweeper in the end.
3.2 Pintu Ghosh to Basil George, FOUR MORE! George looks in real hurry here. Length delivery on the off-stump, George hoicks it down to deep mid-wicket region, goes one bounce into the fence for another boundary.
3.1 Pintu Ghosh to Basil George, SIX! BAM! Short into George, gets into position and pulled that one away, goes flat over the deep square-leg fence for a maximum.
Jacob has been all over the place and has given away more runs, has allowed Crusaders to do well in the run chase here.
